'So, Jimin, is it okay to ask about you a bit?' My dad starts again as we're all eating
'Yeah, of course. Ask away.' Jimin nods
'What is your family like? I assume it can't get weirder than this.' My dad chuckles, gesturing at us
Jimin chuckles as well, 'Well, it's just me, my mom, and my younger brother. And my brother might be weirder than all of us here together.'
'He is absolutely adorable, though.' My mom giggled
'He is like a little steamed bun on batteries. Never shuts up.' Jimin snorts
'Unless he's eating.' I joke
'Why do you think I keep giving him snacks?' Jimin giggles
'Just don't overfeed him. If he gets too big, he'll take me down when he jumps on me.'
'You get along with his brother then?' My dad asks me
'I'm pretty sure he loves her more than he loves me.' Jimin answers for me. 'I hear word noona about 50 times a day.' If he's wasn't smiling at me like an angel, I'd think he's annoyed by it
'You mentioned last time that you're taking care of your brother. Does your mom work a lot, then?'
Thank God. I thought he was gonna ask about his dad. That would have been a fun dinner convo.
'Yes. She owns a graphic design studio, so she is at work most of the time.' It's kind of funny that she owns a graphic studio, and he can barely hold a pen properly.
'That must be hard. It's kind of like you have a kid already. Taking care of him when you yourself are only 18.'
'It used to be hard, but it's honestly not that bad now. The more he grows, the easier it is. Soon enough, he will be able to do most of the things on his own. It might actually be harder to get used to not taking him to school and such.' Jimin chuckles
'Knowing him, he will pretend to forget the way to school just so you can go with him.' I joke
'You might be right. We spoiled him too much.'
'Do you remember the first time we took her to kindergarten?' My dad turns to my mom, all giddy
'Yes, yes. In that little cute pink dress and pigtails you did. Those were awful.' My mom laughs
'She still looked adorable.' He argues
'We sat outside for half an hour after she went in. She didn't even cry about leaving us. She just walked off.'
'And when we went to pick her up...'
They were having their own little conversation, and the more I watched them, the more I noticeed both of them looking at each other. And I think Jimin noticed it too.
He leaned into my ear, whispering, 'I feel like we're bothering them.'
'I thought I was crazy.' I whisper back
'I thought we were supposed to be teenagers.' He giggled as quietly as he could, hiding his face in my shoulder not to disturb them
'.... oh, those were some good times.' My mom laughs and they finally stopped their little conversation, turning back to us
We both pretended not to see a thing. What else can we do?
'Apologies about this. It just brings back memories.' My dad says to him
'Not at all. I did wonder what she was like as a kid.' Jimin giggles back at him
'She was a literal angel. The cutest, most adorable kid I've ever seen, and not because she's my daughter, but she was simply a pretty child.' My dad beams all porudly
