Kiara had never felt so bad, she felt like a part of her had been taken away, it was the first time she had felt that kind of sensation, She thinks it is selfish since she had not felt this kind of sensation even when her parents were bitten in front of her.

JJ didn't know what to do either, he didn't like seeing her cry but he doesn't know what to do either, he knows he should give her space so she can relax on her own and vent, but he didn't want to leave her there alone.

Kiara was the first to speak, JJ noticed her voice, she spoke very softly and if JJ wasn't paying attention to every movement she was making he probably wouldn't have heard her.

She asked JJ if they could bury him. JJ said yes as she walked over to Kiara and helped her up.He lifted her head by her chin, he realized that Kiara was trying to make zero eye contact, He knew that she felt embarrassed for crying in front of him, the only thing he could do was wipe away some of the tears that were still wetting her cheeks.
He gave her a hug and kissed her head.

JJ was surprised by his own actions He had never been so affectionate with anyone, not even with a family member.He doesn't even remember his mother, she left when he was only four years old, his father since then started drinking and taking drugs.
JJ thought it couldn't get any worse until his father started abusing him. That day in JJ's mind was very blurry, he only remembers his own screams begging his father to stop. Clearly his father did not stop, he continued hitting that four-year-old boy lying on the floor bleeding.
He was hitting her with his belt while yelling shit at JJ, Since then JJ only has memories of his father hitting him.

Leaving that behind JJ and Kie grabbed some shovels and left the barn digging a hole in the ground so they could bury the body of Kie's grandfather.

Kiara didn't say anything again, JJ helps wrap her grandfather in a blanket and then put him inside the hole, pouring dirt over it.

After JJ and Kie buried him without saying another word apart from a thank you that Kie said without even looking at JJ, after that the two entered the house.

Pope was asleep on the couch while John b and Sarah had gone into a guest room and they too had fallen asleep.

Kiara and JJ decided to share Kiara's old room, while JJ sat on the bed and entered the bathroom where apparently the water was still running since it came from a well.
After Kiara took a shower, JJ came in to do the same, when JJ finished he saw that Kiara was asleep or at least that was what it seemed, JJ lay down next to her, turned off the lights and fall asleep.

Kiara pretended to be asleep and when she heard JJ's small snores she got out of bed without trying to make any kind of noise.She took a knife and headed outside, she walked quite a distance until she reached a small flower plantation that her grandfather had, Most of these plants were already wilted When Kie found the flowers that were in the best condition, she ripped them off and she went to her grandfather's grave.

She sat in front of a kind of cross that she and JJ made with wooden sticks, She put the flowers on top of a lump of dirt while whispering the words sorry.
She felt guilty, if she had never gone to that community and had arrived at her grandfather's house sooner, he probably would not be dead. She could have saved him from that man but she was not there, Kiara regretted everything that had happened.
She believed that when they got here the two of them could live together peacefully.Obviously that's not what happened, she shouldn't be here crying in front of his grave, She should be spending a good time with him, if only she had come earlier.

Kiara sat there crying while muttering "I'm sorry" every once in a while.
She had no idea that JJ was watching her through her bedroom window.

JJ woke up to go to the bathroom but when he got out of bed he realized that Kiara was not with her, he thought she might be in the bathroom but after knocking on the bathroom door and no one answered he just opened the door and saw that Kiara is not there
He went to the window to look and saw Kiara sitting where her grandfather's grave was, he wanted to go with her but he thought it was a good idea to let her vent alone. He thought she just needed some time alone and so he did.

He went into the bathroom and relieved himself after that he lay on the bed and did not fall asleep waiting for Kiara to arrive.He wasn't going to sleep until she arrived and if she was taking a long time so he would go look for her.

After a few minutes there was no need for him to go look for her since he felt someone lying down next to him and hugging him, That person put his face against his side while he blushed and felt some of Kiara's tears wet his shirt.

He didn't think about it, he just put his arm on Kiara's back and started caressing her.Kie was startled a little since she thought JJ was asleep otherwise she wouldn't have hugged him since now she was the one who was blushing because she was embarrassed. She relaxed into JJ's touch, let out a shaky breath and fell asleep.
JJ waited for her to fall asleep while still stroking her back. When he saw that she had relaxed and had finally fallen asleep peacefully, he smiled and also went to sleep.
