I scanned the surrounding as I was sitting in one of the tables inside the event venue. Dim lights, slow classical music, couples dancing, people chitchatting here and there––very high school prom night themed party.
The end of the filming has come. Tonight is the celebration for the successful shooting of our new movie. I'll miss the production, the crew, the artists—the moments.
Akala ko hindi ko maeenjoy ang filming for this movie. But everything turned out differently.
I have never imagined that shooting a film with Mingyu would be this great. Yes, at first, I really hate him. His presence, his face, his voice—all of him.
I also hate the thought of playing pretend with him, but it was kind of fun, I admit. Since I was little, I have been told to act, to always be nice, to always smile. And don't just believe on anyone and anything around me.
I was told that everything on Hollywood is not real.
But there's this one guy who keeps on assuring me that there's real behind this fake world.
"Ang tahimik mo yata, love?" nabalik ako sa katinuan nang maupo si Mingyu sa tabi ko at nahawakan ako sa bewang.
I shook my head. "I was just reminiscing about the first day of the filming."
"Ahh, 'yong first day na ang sungit mo sa akin? In fairness, ang galing mo talagang umacting ah? Kuhang-kuha mo 'yong tamang emotion kapag oncam na, tapos biglang shift into beast mode kapag break." natatawa niyang sabi.
Eh paano? Good thing, I'm really a professional actress. I wasn't awarded as the best actress last year just to ruin the taping though.
"Noong first meet natin, nagalit ka kasi natawa ako na nakasuot ka ng sweatshirt in a company meeting." patuloy lang siya sa pagkukwento.
Bahagya ko siyang siniko. Wala naman kasing notice noon na may urgent company meeting with the other agency.
Naalala mo noong script reading?" I chuckled after remembering that day. Kinuha niya kasi 'yong script ko, and I was not in the mood that time. "Parang dati lang kung murahin mo 'ko, wagas—"
"Ngayon, minamahal na kita." I cut his words.
Mingyu's ears turned red. I saw how he's struggling not to smile. Hinigpitan niya ang pagkakahawak sa bewang ko. Nang hindi niya na makayanang ngumiti, he buried his face on my shoulder.
I giggled at his cuteness. Nahiya ang puppy ko.
"Napakagaling na magpakilig ah? Trabaho ko 'yon eh." he whispered. Namumula pa rin ang mga tenga niya.
"Why? Can't I return the favor? Kawawa naman kasi 'yong mga bulateng palagi nalang nagwawala sa tiyan ko." I looked away kahit na hindi naman siya nakatingin sa akin. Hindi naman pwedeng ako lang palagi ang kinikilig eh.
"Excuse me, love birds." Yumi approached us, making Mingyu to lift up his head. "Foods are ready, you can eat first while we're waiting for the President."
Both Mingyu and I nodded. Kakakain lang namin, and I'm full. Might as well, enjoy the mellow music, but I'm too tired as of the moment. I yawned and stretched my arms in the air.
"Sleepy?" Mingyu asked.
"Hmm."
He tapped his broad shoulder. "Here. Gigisingin nalang kita kapag dumating na sila Pres."
