Nicks pov -
I decided instead of waiting until later, I was going to tell Charlie now. Atleast it would give him something else to think about other than the party.
"So... Monday I'm going to take you and my mum away for a month." I blurt out.
"No way. You're joking!" His face lights up.
"We are going to Florence, Italy."
"OMG!! I love you so much!" His arms wrap around my neck.
"I haven't told my mum yet though," I start, "I was actually going to tell you both tonight but I couldn't keep it in any longer."
"Can I tell her after the party?"
"If you want to."
Charlies pov -
We spend all day decorating the house and laying out the snacks - occasionally popping out to the shop when we realise we've forgot something. Everyone should be coming at about 6 so we have about an hour to finish setting everything up. I'm not dreading it as much now as I have something else to think about. Our holiday.
We finished laying everything out about half an hour before anyone was meant to arrive so we texted the gang and told them they could come over now. Tara and Darcy are the first to arrive, followed by Isaac and then Tao and Elle. We manage to play a couple board games before we heard the first knock and then before we know it the house it full of people - half of which I had never even seen before - and music was playing from somewhere.
Nicks pov -
I hadn't realised how many people we had invited until they actually showed up. Most of them I knew, it was just a few of Charlie's uni friends I didn't recognise. Then it clicked, I hadn't see Charlie since I started opening the door for people. My eyes dart around the room looking for his curly, black hair when suddenly I spot him. He was curled up on the sofa, on his own. I make my way through the sea of people and sit next to him.
"You alright?" Charlie has never been big on parties so I knew this wasn't going to be so easy for him.
"I think so." He leans closer to me to rest his head on my shoulder.
"Proud of you." I whisper to him.
AFTER THE PARTY
Charlies pov -
Nick made everyone leave at about 7:30. Luckily for us, his mum stayed because she wanted to help clean up.
After all the plastic cups and the left over food had all been thrown away, we sat down with Sarah and told her about the surprise.
"Sarah, I think Nick might have something he wants to surprise you with." I notify her.
"Really? What's that?" She gives me a puzzled look. Nick comes in after clearing up the kitchen and plonks himself next to me.
"Well you know the holiday I booked for me and Charlie?" Nick begins.
"Well of course I do." She laughs.
"Nick actually booked it for the three of us." I finish.
"Wait, really?" Sarah turns to Nick as if she think he's joking.
"We are going to Florence, Italy on Monday." Nick pulls out his phone to show her the plane tickets.
"OH MY GOSH!! THANK YOU!" She then pulls us both in for a group hug.
