Eddy's POV
-
I was thrown in jail for something I didn't do. I was wrongly accused for a murder of a wealthy man's daughter. I never even saw her, let alone, let my blade slice her throat. I had been assigned a cell with someone across from me. My cell was empty with just me in it, a few guards patrolling.

"I didn't do it! When they find the killer, you'll let me go!" I barked as the guard closest to me laughed. "Yeah, right! You'll be here until you rot!" He bellowed out.

I hit the bars that contained me out of anger. "I'm not a murderer! When they find that bastard, they'll set me free!" I yelled as the guard just laughed. I hit the bars again before I gave in. This was my home now. Once, my uncle's apprentice is now reduced to nothing more than a criminal. No one would save me, and I knew that.

The man across from me chuckled at my sudden burst of rage. "What's your name, kid?" He asked as I muttered, "Eddy. What's yours, old timer?" I asked as I stood near the bars as he looked at me. "Name's Roger. Roger the Rebellious. Roger the Righteous, Roger the - "

"Wait, Roger the Ruined? There's been so many stories that you're dead! How'd ya end up here?" I asked as he chuckled. "Well, kid, how much time you got?" He asked as I shrugged. "I'm not really sure, man."

"Well, it all started with a girl who I was smitten by. A beautiful sight for sore eyes, that one. Bottom line, she wasn't into me for my looks, but rather my money. She was quite fond of my gold pouch I had. She took my money and ran! Ruined my name and reputation! Led a war against me. I was a prisoner of war, son. Does that make sense?" He asked as I nodded. I had so many more questions, but I wanted to rest, and so I did on the bed roll provided.

I woke to the sound of the guard's keys rattling. He opened my cell door and yelled at me to get up. "Ow! I'm up! What the hell do ya want with me?" I asked as I saw a male who was taller than me, but looked about my age. "This man paid your bounty. You're free to go," he barked as I walked out of my cell. When I walked outside, it took me a few minutes to get used to the lighting.

"So, you're Eddy, huh? You were thrown in jail for murder? It's what the guards told me, anyway. Something about how you'll rot there," he said as I nodded. "What do ya want with me? Who are you anyway?" I asked as he smiled. "My name's Edward, but most call me Ed! I'm an adventurer, and you'll be the perfect companion to accompany me in my long travels! Whaddya say?"

In a way, I admired him. He was an optimistic one. Undoubtedly stupid, but optimistic nonetheless. Still, I should give him the benefit of the doubt. He was kind enough to save me from certain doom. "Alright, I'll travel with ya, Ed. It ain't like I'm doing much else," I stated as Ed smiled. "I'm glad you decided to join me! First, we'll get you some armor and some weapons! Then we can go into - "

Boy, he knew how to talk, huh? No matter. This talk of weapons and armor made me feel ill. "If we're gonna do that, we have to go somewhere first before we get anything. We need to visit my uncle, make sure he knows I'm okay," I stated as he blinked. "Sure, but we need to get some supplies first before we head out that way, okay?" Ed said as I followed him.

When we entered the blacksmith's armory, called the Knight's Shield, Ed smiled and walked in as I looked around rather nervously. "Welcome to the Knight's Shield, boys. What can I do for ya?" The male's voice bellowed out. "We need some supplies and something to hook my new friend up with!" Ed said while the male looked me up and down.

"Of course! What do ya fancy, boy?" He asked as I shrugged. "Ah, not sure what you're good at? We can certainly arrange that!" He brought me to an array of weapons and armor that was made of iron and steel. "These will help someone like you to survive battle a little longer. They're not as strong as daedric or dragon bone armor, but they're easily affordable and easy to repair."
