𝐀𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈 TIANA CAMERON

"𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐘! Do you like my hair? I did it myself!" A twelve year old Ashanti smiled, showing her mother the ponytail she had put her hair in.

"Ashanti, get out my face please." Her mother, Camilla, groaned, making her father laugh.

"Sorry ma, can I go to the park and play?" She looked down, now sad. Her parents never cared about the small things that Ashanti did, and that disappointed her, however, could she do anything about it? No.

"I don't care what you do Tiana, out my face." Camilla yelled, getting irritated.

"Told yo' ass about bothering people." James, her father chuckled.

"Okay." Ashanti mumbled, quickly sliding her slides on and going out the door. She started her journey to the park, which was 5 minutes away.

"Hey!" A voice could be heard as the young girl walked, which made her walk faster.

"Hey, I was talking to you." A 15 year old girl tapped Ashanti's shoulder.

"sorry, my daddy told me not to talk to strangers." She frowned, putting her hands behind her back as they began to shake.

"Are you okay? Why are you crying?" Jayda asked her, wiping her face.

"Mhm, wanna be my f-friend?" Ashanti muttered, looking up at the older girl.

"Of course, what's your name pretty girl?" Jayda exclaimed softly, bending down so she could be at height with Ashanti.

"A-Ashanti." She stuttered over her words, tears brimming in her eyes as she began to get mad at her shyness.

"This is Von, grandson say hi." Jayda tapped the smaller boy next to her, and he waved.

"You don't have to cry, boo. It's okay." Jayda pouted, pulling the child into her arms as she bursted into tears.

"Awe, stop crying baby, it's okay. If you keep crying, I'ma cry." Jayda wiped her tears, hugging her tightly.

"S-sorry." She cried quietly, wiping her tears once more.

"Hm, come on let's go get some ice cream." Jayda requested, hearing the Ice Cream Truck.

"I don't have any money." Ashanti told her.

"I'll pay for you pretty. It's okay." The older smiled, grabbing her and Dayvon's hand and walking over to the truck.

"Which Ice Cream you want, teetee?" The girl questioned, calling her by the nickname she had just given her.

"Umm Strawberry Shortcake." Ashanti replied, smiling.

"Alright,Von what you want baby?"  she smiled back, walking up.

"Strawberry Shortcake." He mumbled, causing Jayda to nod.

"Hello, what can I get you three today?" The man asked, leaning forward.

"Hi, can I get two Strawberry Shortcake frozen bars, and a Cookies And Cream bar please?" Jayda asked politely.

"Of course, $3." He told her, and she handed him the money, grabbing the two bars from him.

"Thank you!" Jayda waved, walking over to the park with Ashanti and Dayvon behind her, trying to open her Ice Cream.

"Let me help you mama." Jayda chuckled, taking it from her and opening it, handing it to her as the three sat on the swings.

"Thank you," She grinned, taking a bite out of her frozen yogurt.

"You welcome boo, you can call me Jay. How old are you?" She asked the younger, beginning to swing back and forth.
