𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐯𝐨𝐧 walked into the hospital building with a hard mug on his face, Alyssa and Ashanti close behind him as he approached the desk.
"I'm tryna see Demari Bennett." He uttered, and the lady typed on her keyboard, then looked up.
"He's in surgery at the moment, you can sit in the waiting room for now." She pointed to the room with chairs and a TV, and Von sighed, walking inside, seeing Jayda crying in her hands.
"Jay," He called out, and she glanced up, walking into his arms.
"I'm s-so sorry, Von. I-I didn't know—."
"This ain't yo' fault, Ion blame you. You good?" He held back from crying, hugging her tightly.
"No..What if h-he don't make it?" She wiped her face, hugging Ashanti as well as Alyssa.
"Don't say that shit." He mumbled, sitting down, holding his head in his hands.
"You okay baby? Aw Jayda." Ashanti pulled her into another hug as she started to cry again.
"I should've never let him leave me! This was all my fault. I was irresponsible." She sniffed, sitting next to Ashanti and Alyssa.
"Irresponsible? Look, he is grown, Jayda. I'm sure he's strong enough to make it through this. I really don't know you guys that well, but I'm praying for the best, for all of you." Alyssa explained, and Jayda nodded, thanking her.
"Thanks, Lyssa. Hey, y'all should go talk to him, Demari's friend is coming in, I'm gonna talk to him." Jayda pointed at Von, who was pulling at his dreads.
Alyssa and Ashanti took on that advice, sitting next to Dayvon, rubbing his back.
"You okay? You know you can talk to us." Alyssa moved his hands from his face, and he stared at the floor.
"I'm straight. I just need to know that my brotha' good." He answered, and Ashanti kissed his cheek, hugging him. As a child, she could see how close him and Demari were, so she knew this was hurting him on a different level.
