Harry tries not to run as he walks away from Professor Umbridge's overly pink room. Tears burn the back of his eyes as he clenches his hand, the pale, engraved words standing out, 'I must not tell lies' a constant reminder of last year, of everybody's foolishness in refusing to listen. He stops, tempted to turn around, to show Umbridge the truth, but that'll do nothing, only hurt his friends. Instead he yells, an indistinct, meaningless yell, slamming his fist against the wall. His anger is so great that he doesn't even feel the pain of flesh colliding with stone. It is so great that he doesn't even notice the burst of power that explodes from him in every direction, rattling the immovable walls, powering through the corridors, and causing many things to stir.
High in an office a red bird shrieks, flapping his dimming wings. He is about to go back to ashes, but he knows that when he is next reborn, many things will have changed. And, maybe, it will be free again.
Deep below the dungeons of the castle a small serpent stirs. It slithers out of its hiding place, taking in the massive skeleton of its guardian. It takes in the small dairy that has a pool of black blood/ink surrounding it, and it knows. It knows that soon it will be reunited with its mother.
In his common room, not far from the stirring snake a pale haired boy studies, a blast of power disturbs him, tearing free his memories. And, finally, he knows. He knows the truth.

A/N: The song for this chapter is Silent Scream by Damien Dawn. Because I feel like it reflects how Harry feels at the start with Umbridge stopping him from telling the truth about Lord Voldemort.
