Haru had no idea where to even start with the apology. As soon as the (h/c) haired girl returned, telling him Orion wholeheartedly agreed to meeting, he started malfunctioning. The brunette didn't know what to say or what to do. He wasn't even sure he would be able to actually stand in front of the ill boy. Rather, he was repeatedly picturing himself cowering and attempting to run away in all of the scenarios he came up with.

After some time trembling by himself, he finally gripped onto (Y/n) and stared up with teary eyes. He didn't say a word. In fact, the moment they made eye contact, he tensed up and looked away. That being said, as his eyes looked as far away as possible, he held her around the waist, trying to get as close as he could. It was his way of asking for help. Though the word "help" - like "sorry" - was foreign to him, she wasn't going to refuse him. Contrary to what some others thought, she cherished him more than anyone else.

"Don't be nervous," she shushed, petting around his hair since he was extra sensitive about it being messed up (since, if it was unkempt, he wouldn't be attractive anymore), "I don't think you could have picked anyone better for your first time apologizing."

"He's going to hate me. He's going to hate me and then he's going to yell at me."

"We don't know what will happen."

"I'll just say it before he talks. If I do that, he'll forgive me and I can go back home with you and Bastien and dad. Then things will be normal and we'll be home and normal."

"It doesn't work like that."

"Why not?!"

As Haru snapped, she made a face. He seemed to put it together that she was getting irritated at his attitude. The brunette remembered she didn't like being yelled at, but to verify it, he scrolled through his tablet. His expression turned from one of anger to one of distress as he found that she really didn't like that. Gripping a bit harder onto her, he began tearing up, trying to remain quiet in the hopes that she would forgive him. Even so, he mumbled a faint "sorry" under his breath, knowing she liked hearing the words, too.

"If I stabbed you and then said sorry, it wouldn't be enough," she explained.

"You...want to stab me?"

Haru began sobbing a bit, misunderstanding, as per usual. Of course, the moments she tried to stab him weren't as rare as they should have been. That being said, she tried to console him that time, solely because he didn't do anything wrong enough to be stabbed. She learned early on that the easiest way to cheer him up was to touch him. It didn't usually matter where, except for his hair. As long as she was touching him somewhere, he would calm down or get a little happier, like a dog.

"I'm just trying to say that just apologizing might not be enough. And, even if it is, not everyone will forgive you if you say 'sorry'."

"But he has to! I-I didn't know, so it wasn't my fault!"

"Calm down. I'm sure he will forgive you, but you should show some sincerity. Why don't we go out and get that gift we were talking about earlier?"

The brunette nodded wordlessly and pulled the younger girl to sit on the couch with him. He slumped over and rested his head on her lap, positioning her so he could be at his optimal comfort. Only then did he attempt searching for gifts. Though it was a dubious method, at best, he looked up the prince. Surprisingly, unlike other royal families around the world, the Vethelan royal family had their likes and dislikes extremely public. Though many gifts would not be accepted, the royal family held a monopoly of public perception. It was the reason why modern Vethelan architecture was maturely themed, as per the tastes of the previous queen, along with her religious connotation.
