The light orange-haired man was fidgeting uncomfortably in the carriage. He hadn't stepped foot on castle grounds in years. The last time he had come was to introduce Celith to the royal family. At the thought of the white-haired boy, the man felt great excitement. He had never felt he was destined to be an Oracle. Rather, he felt unworthy and undeserving for the task. After all, unlike his predecessors, he had little talent for either possessing or utilizing divine power. Yet Celith was undoubtedly a miracle people accredited to him.
Cadmus had found the boy just wandering around in the middle of the sun god sanctum. It was one of the most guarded places in the world, and yet, he had gone and appeared inside of it. Unperturbed, the boy simply wandered around, taking a vested interest in the sacred animals inside. At once, the man knew that boy was special. And when he approached the boy, noting the special aura surrounding him, he fell to his knees at once. He couldn't help but recognize the awe-inspiring importance he possessed.
Though Celith was kept at the sun god sanctum for a month, afterwards, the orange-haired man took him to the castle. He introduced him to the royal family and had the boy show them his divine power. Accepted, he was treated as one of them, but, sadly, Cadmus had to leave. In the beginning, he had heard the boy was doing well in the palace but no one could understand him. Even Cadmus had just a basic grasp on his language, only because it was similar to the ancient language spoken by the gods.
"Are you worried, Oracle?" one of the man's paragons hummed.
"Don't be presumptuous. If the Oracle is concerned, it is not our place to comment upon it."
"I was only trying to understand him to serve him better."
"Aithe was being considerate of me," Cadmus smiled peacefully, fidgeting a bit more, "To tell the truth, I am a bit anxious."
"Is there anything we can do for you?"
"I-I'm afraid this is something I must go through on my own. I can handle it."
The two paragons gazed at their Oracle, knowing he didn't mean that. While Cadmus was someone not just anyone could meet with, that just meant that those that were close to him knew a lot about his character. The paragons, though they held their own standing in the sect, valued their position as his closest attendants. They were with him when he woke up and the same when he went to sleep. Aware of his deepest fears or the things he loved the most, they saw all sides to him. So, when he said he would be fine in that scenario, of course they wouldn't believe it. Still, their job was to provide comfort to him, not to call him out on lies.
As they got closer and closer to the main palace, the orange-haired man's fidgeting became more noticeable. And once he saw people outside waiting for him, he tensed up even more, barely breathing. The door to the carriage was then opened, both Aithe and Keahi stepping out first before Cadmus made his entrance. All the servants there gazed at him in awe, on their knees for a man with inumberous accomplishments. Cadmus de Oshaka was the Oracle of the sun sect, the prince consort to the first princess of Vethela, the father of the crown prince of Vethela, and the one who discovered the boy called the reincarnation of the sun god. They revelled in awe of this man. And then he tripped right in front of them.
Cadmus went bright red as he fell flat on his face, his paragons helping him up. Shyly, he hid his face, hoping no one saw, but, obviously, everyone did. Servants and royalty alike watched him make a fool of himself like a child. He let a small whine escape from his throat, filled with uncontrollable shame. The man had not recovered even as he moved to bow to the royal family. He was just grateful he could manage to hide his face a little longer.
"There's no need to bow," Mica chuckled, his eyes fixated on the man's shining orange hair, "We are family, son."
"I would still like to show proper reverence for the descendents of the eternal flower. Despite my title, I am still only a mere mortal in the face of the royal family. Please indulge me, your highness."
