Verona wasn't all that surprised when the (h/c) haired girl came to visit her. After all, she had been waiting for an answer for why Orion was so different from herself and Celith. She must have thought the answer was in the boy's father, but, unfortunately like many that met with the man, she was left disappointed. There was nothing special about the orange-haired man. At least, not the kind of special she was looking for. And while he was partially rare, it wasn't the kind of rare she was, nor the kind of rare Orion was.

"Don't look like that. I feel guilty somehow," the princess chuckled, tucking a stray strand of hair behind the girl's ear.

"He's a phoenix."

"Well, in essence. And that may sound surprising, but it's very normal for Oracles to be of phoenix descent. It's also common for them not to know that. They learned long ago that it was better to blend in than stand out. Humans have always liked hunting beautiful things, but when they got better and better at it...Well, I'm sure you know what that's like."

"Orion isn't a phoenix, I mean. There's no trace of it in him."

The woman nodded, tilting her head to the side as she thought deeply. There was no straight answer she could give the girl. Even if she disclosed everything that happened, it would not be in her best interest. After all, her goal was Orion's future. The only way he would have one is if the girl in front of her played along. So she thought it would be best to mix her words, if only to increase the odds of success.

"Yes. The only thing he inherited from his father was his looks, minus the muscles. I guess his personality, too, but that was more like convergent evolution or something."

"What is Orion?"

"The same thing as you. It's hard to put a term on him like 'pureblood' or 'halfblood' and the same applies to you. Technically, you were born from a pureblood father but a human woman. In theory, you are only a halfblood, but sometimes people consider you a pureblood because of your special traits. Orion is very similar to that."

"But he's not. He takes an earth element kind of variation, not aether."

"Well, I said similar, not exact."

(Y/n) knew the woman was hiding something from her, and, try as she might, there was no getting it out of her. So, instead, she thought to inform the woman that there were sprites in the labyrinth. Expectedly, she knew, giving a shameful glance out the window. When asked if anyone else knew about them, she shook her head. That was also odd. Verona knew a whole lot about the castle, but, for some reason, no one else did. Frustrated and in want of answers, the younger girl neglected to keep in mind that the woman in front of her was wholly susceptible to her aura. The princess moved her hand to her head, closing her eyes in an attempt to ward away the nausea.

"Please keep in mind I am not immune to being charmed. If you keep this up, I might just collapse."

Flinching, the younger girl realized she had accidentally tried to influence the woman. She took a few steps back, trying to stop the aura from pouring out. Verona looked grateful for that, but she still held her head, dizzy and obviously affected. (Y/n) wondered, if she asked her a question, if she would really respond. Obviously, it was a stupid thought. The woman had some kind of resistance to her charm. That was probably because, though she was more of a chimera, comprised of all kinds of other species, she had at least a few drops of similar blood. They were usually immune to one another, after all.

"You're quite strong. Experienced, I assume, though I also assume you would have had to be in order to survive. I suppose I'm also very inexperienced at being charmed, let alone doing the charming," A pause. "Actually, now that we're on the subject, my family may not have much blood, but we do have something similar."
