-6 years later-

"I'm just saying, Skairipa is a beast. Of course she'd win the conclave." Madi exclaimed.

"Yeah, she's pretty cool! Like she fights with swords, and kills a lot of people." Link added.

"I personally think Raven is the best. She's smart and thinks things through." Alexa added.

"That's only because you're boring. You just wish you were as smart as Raven." Link teased.

"Link Abram, apologize to your sister right now." Addy light smacked the back of his head as she walked by. The boy sighed.

"I'm sorry." He rolled his eyes.

"For?" The little girl stuck her nose up at him. The boy turned to his mom, and she nodded her head.

"For saying you were stupid." His head dropped.

"Thank you." Addy rubbed his back. Madi turned back to Clarke's picture book.

"I'm sorry they left without you." Madi looked at Clarke.

"Well, I'm not. Because if I was with them, I would've never met you, and you wouldn't have the bestest friends in the world." Clarke looked at the two six year olds sitting next to Addy.

Addy sighed. "Alright, Link and Lexa, we gotta go wash up and head to bed."

"What? Madi isn't going to bed." Link whined.

"Madi is bigger than you. Madi also finished her lesson's and doesn't have to do them in the morning." Addy lifted Alexa onto her hip. She grabbed Link's hand, and drug him along with her.

---------------Present day as of last chapter in Book 1---------------

Clarke sped the rover through the trees.

"Who are they?" Madi sat up front, while Addy peered out the back window to ensure nobody was following. The twins stayed tucked under the small bed they had when they slept on travels.

"I won't let anything happen to you." Clarke assured the girl. The rover came to a halt. "Promise me you'll stay in the hole. You'll keep the twins safe." Clarke looked at her.

"What about you guys?" Madi looked at her and Addy.

"We'll be back as soon as we can." Addy spoke up. She moved towards the front.

"Now promise me." Clarke demanded.

"I promise." Madi nodded her head.

"Here." Clarke handed the girl her gun. "If you shoot they'll hear you." Clarke warned her.

"I'll make sure it's my only choice." Madi assured her.

"Go." Clarke whispered. The brunette claimed out of the seat, and Addy lifted the twins one by one onto the passenger seat to climb out. Madi grabbed both their hands and guided them towards their safety zone.

"Please tell me leaving them is the safest option." Addy gave the blonde a worried look. All she did was sigh, before backing the rover away.

Clarke and Addy hid in two separate spots in the trees. They both had a rifle with scopes. Addy aimed her scope to the opening. The door hissed open, and a person stood in the opening with a mask on. When they took the mask off it revealed a woman.

"All clear!" The woman shouted. Men carrying guns came marching out.

Addy watched Clarke's scope move around more, but she was more interested in the woman. There was only one. The rest were men.

Clarke then disappeared. "Son of a bitch." Addy breathed out. She packed up her stuff, and moved back towards camp. A gunshot was heard.

Addy ran, and then another was heard. She saw two men surrounding the kids. She dropped her stuff and ran. She jumped on the first man's back, spinning around his neck, and kicking the other one.

"She's like a goddamn spider monkey." The one shouted. She grabbed out her knife, and sliced the one's throat. The other grabbed her hair, and yanked it back. He threw her to the ground, and wrapped his hands around her throat. Another gunshot rang out. The man winced in pain, and Addy took it as her time to kill him, and so she did. She stood up and saw who held the gun.

"Link put that down!" She ran up and took it from his hand.

"I'm so sorry." The young boy was shaking.

"Oh it's okay." Addy grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. She lifted him up onto her hips, and slung Alexa onto her back. "Come on. We need to go."

"What about Clarke?" Madi yanked her hand from Addy's grasp.

"Clarke is fine, but we need to go." Addy demanded.

"I'm not leaving." Madi moved farther from her.

"Clarke will be okay. If we don't leave now, who knows what will come after us." Addy grabbed her arm once more. She drug her.

"Stop. You're hurting me." Madi called out.

"Stop being a brat and let's go Madison." She continued to drag the 12 year old along despite her protests.

Madi had eventually split off from the three. With their original safe place being ousted, Addy tried to find a safe place for the twins.

"Here climb." She hoisted Alexa up a tree first. The twins were skilled in many things. Tree climbing being one of them. She pushed Link to follow.

"No, I'm coming with. Madi and Aunt Clarke could be in trouble." He protested.

"This isn't up for debate. Go." She ordered staring him dead in the eye.

"You know I'm six years old, but I am almost the same size as Madi and just as skilled as her." He pouted.

"If you came with me who would protect your sister." Addy gawked. The little boy looked up to his sister sitting on a tree branch above him. He looked back at his mom, rolled his eyes with a large sigh, and climbed up the tree. "That's what I thought." She mumbled turning and running from the tree.

She ran to where she heard talking. She stopped and pressed herself against a tree.

"The ridge line one o'clock." She heard the woman mumble. Addy moved her rifle silently to see them staring right at Clarke and Madi. She looked around to make sure nobody was near her, but looked back through the scope to see them aiming a large gun at Clarke. Addy fired her rifle, but it just grazed the man's arm. He still fired the big gun. Addy took off running when she saw all eyes on her.

"Son of a-"

"McCreary! Get me someone to interrogate." He tied a piece of fabric around his arm, disregarding what she had said. "That means alive. Copy?" The woman looked at him.

"Copy." He sighed.
