Kept Marching On

Octavia spent most of her time thinking up an attack plan on Diyoza's men. Everyone else helped heal the sick and injured from the previous night.

"What was that thing you said before Szybunka fired the weapon?" Bellamy looked at Addy.

Addy looked around. "You can't tell a soul until we know for sure, but I think McCreary and a bunch of the prisoners are going to rebel against Diyoza."

"Are you sure?" Bellamy checked.

"No, but the thing is, if Diyoza goes down we're doomed. Diyoza is harsh, but there is a merciful side to her. I've almost seen it. McCreary won't hesitate to kill every last one of us if he's in charge. If I can just find out the plan, maybe we can expose him and his men causing a war between the Eligius prisoners."

"And the more of them they take out the less we have to deal with." Bellamy added.

"Exactly." Addy smiled. "Even better if we can give Diyoza a leg up."

"So you want to help the enemy destroy the enemy?" Bellamy was following what she was saying but it wasn't clear.

"The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Addy looked at him.

"McCreary's the true enemy."

"Diyoza's just a decoy." Addy continued. "My plan is if they fled, they're going after Raven and Murphy."

"The two sliest people we know."

"That's two really intelligent spies. We find out McCreary's plan: we don't have to go to war."

"Genius." Bellamy smiled at her. "Find a way to secretly get to Murphy and Raven. I'll keep Octavia off your back."

"Miller, wait!" Clarke followed after a cloaked Miller. Bellamy and Addy ran in front of the hurried man.

"Woah, woah, woah. Where are you going?" Bellamy stopped him.

"Wish I could tell you, Bellamy." Miller tried to push past.

"Octavia told you not to?" Bellamy stopped him again. Realization hit Clarke.

"You're going to Shallow Valley." She stormed away.

"Clarke. Clarke, wait." Miller chased after her. He grabbed her and turned her to face him. "You can't just do whatever the hell you want here."

"I'm guessing you're moving ahead of the army, to scout forward terrain. Which route are you taking? It's sandstorm season. The wind moves in a predictable path. Addy and I have made the trip dozens of times. Trust me, you need our help." Clarke walked away.

"Looks like I just found my own way in." Addy looked at Bellamy. He gave her a concerned look back.

The group crashed Octavia's planning party. Octavia's trusted leaders questioned why Miller failed to follow his orders, while Clarke told them everyday their plan sucked.

"You chose the shortest route which makes sense, but the dry seabed is hit by almost constant sandstorms."

"We have the tents from the second dawn. Sand won't be a problem." Octavia counter argued.

"It's not just sand." Addy added in. "Some of it's crystalized by Praimfaya." She lifted up her shirt to reveal cuts all across her stomach. "We are talking about shards of glass like razor blades. Not fun to walk through." Addy dropped her shirt. Behind her Bellamy stood in shock. He never understood what Addy and Clarke went through down on Earth.

"Your tents will be torn to shreds and so will you." Clarke finished.

"Bloodreina is right," Cooper started, "besides we can only carry rations for seven days. The sea route will take six. The next shortest path adds 50 miles. That's two days if we are lucky."
