"I need you to get in here." Clarke ushered Madi into a hiding hole they dug in the ground.
"Not without you." The girl whined.
"I need you to stay here out of sight. I need to go find Addy and the twins."
"What if they already have them?" Madi looked at Clarke.
"Not possible. Addy would kill all of them the second they grabbed her." Clarke covered the hole.
Meanwhile, Addy raced through the trees. She looked for the tree she left the twins in. "Link." She whispered. "Link, it's okay to come down." She tried again. No response. "I know I left them here." She said to herself. She looked around at the other trees. No sign of the kids.
"Gotcha." She heard from behind her. Large hands grabbed her, one of them covering her mouth. A muffled shout escaped her lips. She elbowed the man in the stomach. He released her, grabbing his abdomen. He grabbed his walkie and radioed the camp. "I got her. I'll bring her in."
"So there is more. We have a blonde that McCreary's troop found. Bring her in alive, Watson." The woman's voice responded. Addy knew they were talking about Clarke. She ran up to the man and kicked his walkie. She hit him a couple times, and he hit back. He struck her face multiple times, leaving open cuts all over.
Addy got up. "You're a feisty one." The man smirked. "And from what I seen, way prettier than your friend." He gave her a toothy grin. Addy breathed heavily out. She tried to move away from him, but he grabbed her arm, and yanked her back. She fought against him as hard as she could. He was definitely bigger than her. "Stop struggling." He pushed her to the ground.
"Hey, back away from her." A small voice commanded.
"No." Addy whispered. The man turned his head.
"Oh hey little guy." He said in a sweeter tone. Link stood in front of the man.
"No. NO stop." Addy protested trying to pull the guy away.
"Enough." He shoved her to the ground again. The man continued to walk towards Link. "I won't hurt you I promise." He reached his hand out to offer. Link backed away slowly. "Get back here." Watson lunged forward, but right as he did, Link jumped backward and Watson stepped right in a bear trap. He screamed in pain. A gun shot fire, and the air was silent.
Addy looked up to see Madi standing between Link and Alexa. "Oh my god." Addy breathed out. She practically jumped up and hugged the three of them. She kissed them on the head. "I'm glad you guys are okay."
"I'm sorry we left the tree mommy." Alexa apologized.
"No." Addy replied. "No, don't be sorry. You did what you had to to be safe, and you found Madi. You did exactly as you were told." She hugged them again.
"We need to go find Clarke." Madi protested.
"We will." Addy replied.
"Now." The girl demanded.
"No, it's too dangerous to go now." Addy shot her down.
"She's in trouble. You can't just leave her there."
"Madi. I am one person."
"You're a trained fighter, and you have us." She looked at the twins.
"Yeah, a 12 year old and two 6 year olds. That sounds like the start of a bad joke." Madi scoffed. Addy rolled her eyes. "Do you really want to put them in danger? We go hide, and think of a plan."
Madi rolled her eyes in defeat.
