Max's POV
The moment we reached home after a long day of court sessions and going through the legal paperwork, I decided to come clean to my mother.
"Mom, I need to talk to you."I spoke up seriously.
"What happened Max, is everything alright?"She asked back clearly worried and stressed after today.
"This is really important, I want you to be honest with me please."I replied back slowly.
"What is this about Max, you are scaring me?"She questioned slowly.
"Even after all we've been through, I still remember bits of my childhood although not everything is super clear. I want some answers."I replied back to her.
"Alright, on what?"She questioned.
"I know when I was 5 years old, you had a daughter. I heard you and my father fighting and you didn't want to let her go."I replied as she became shocked.
"You've known since that long."She spoke softly.
"Yes mom, I want to know everything you know about her. I want to find her and the only thing I remember is her name. I've had nightmares about this daily and I've kept it to myself now that we are free we can get her back."I replied sternly.
"I see Max, but I don't even know if she'll accept us back."She replied back as tears started to fall from her eyes.
"Calm down mom, I know she might not want to come back but I'll do everything I can to bring her back. The only way I can succeed is if you tell me everything you know."I replied back hugging her trying to console her.
"Alright I'll tell you everything I know."She replied. As we sat down on our couch.
As we sat down, I found out a lot about my sister. My mother told me that she was living in the Netherlands but traveled to Greece sometimes to visit her adopted parents. Even after my father didn't disclose where he was taking her. His friends who adopted my little sister told my mother that she was safe and gave her regular updates on her upbringing and life. I made a mental note to thank them when I saw them.
"Finally as you know, her name is Stefania."My mother finished.
"You could've told me earlier mom, at least I could've been at peace but I understand your reasons."I replied hugging her once again.
I decided to fly out as early as possible to try and meet her quickly. The best part was that the summer break was going on currently and I had all the time in the world to go and find her.
"Mom do you have the address of where they live in Greece?"I asked her.
"Yes, they gave it to me a while ago I'm not sure if they live their anymore though."She replied back worriedly.
"Mom don't worry I promise you, I'll find her."I replied back to her calming her down.
"Alright Max, be careful and do inform Kelly and Penelope before you go."She replied as I nodded my head at her.
That evening, I immediately left for my apartment to pack up my bags as I prepared to leave for Greece. My jet was already on standby at the airport so all I had to do was inform my girlfriend. I went home to see Kelly about to turn in for the night.
"Hey Max, you're home late Penelope has already gone to sleep."Kelly replied.
"Yes I know, I came to tell you that I'm flying to Greece tonight."I replied back.
"What? Why?"She asked me as I went into a full explanation about what was going on.
"I see, well be safe Max and I hope you get your sister back."She replied giving me a kiss on the lips.
