Friday finally rolls around the corner and I cannot wait for this evening. I decide that today I will only visit the fair in the evening, since I now have Gabe and Rafa's lines I will be calling them more often and Rafa has been texting me, it seems that he really doesn't run out of Angels pick up lines.

Somehow as I am on my way back from the Kalulushi main market I meet Luwi. I haven't had the chance to socialize with her yet but all I know is that she reminds me a little bit of myself, same height, colour and even body type. She is average in height like me and is currently in small mukule(tiny braids that are common in Zambia done with natural hair). She is pretty too with a good body, the only difference is that her waist is slightly bigger than mine. I also avoided her particularly because her and Tandeo look like they have a thing or had a thing or will have a thing soon which annoys me, I am normally not the jealous type and I wonder why I am feeling this way, I mean Tandeo obviously had a life before I came into the picture and so did I but...still. when Luwi calls my name I try to pretend that I didn't hear her, I am being petty I know but it is what it is...

"Hi," she shouts again. Running up to me this time and I can hear her feet approaching me.

"Sister, you are being called back there?" A teenage guy says to me and with that I have no other choice but to acknowledge Luwi's presence.

The market is a busy place, with people selling vegetables, different food stuffs, clothes and shoes etc and many people generally just moving up and about, so much happens out here although it cannot be compared to Kitwe. Among the many people moving up and about I easily ignored Luwi but with that annoying teenage boy, now I have to acknowledge her presence.

"Hey there Malaika" she says in a sweet voice giving me a huge smile that reaches her eyes and I feel guilty instantly.

"Hi...uh...is it...Khad...or Lu... Khadija right?" I try to save myself, being fully aware of her name.

"It's Luwi, nice to see you here, girl you disappeared after the party" she states.

"Oh, about that I didn't know your names and contact numbers and Tandeo is also rarely home so I had no way of talking to you guys" I reply.

"Oh it's fine, but yes I agree with you though, when school's begin Tandeo gets quite busy but he is really good at this school thing and often helps me in class and even others" she says...well that just makes me like him more.

"Wow, so you are in third year too and look at me in first year" I whine.

"Oh you have a long way to go" she chuckles. "so do call Malaika, don't be a stranger" she tells me.

"Sure thing, so how long have you and Tandeo known each other?" I ask.

"For a very long time" she says. "I live in Kalulushi too and we both went to St Marceline's school, both at the Catholic University and also both tired of this sleepy little town, we literally cannot wait to graduate and finally get out of here" she talks on and on and I drift a little. I keep noticing how she says 'we' and not 'I' and begin to wonder if something is going on between them.

"Well, I can tell that you guys are pretty close" I try to keep the bitter tone out of my voice. I mean he is like my first crush, real crush anyway and I had thought that he was feeling something too but...

"Oh, yes we are", she stresses on the 'we are'" this irritates me to the core and at this point I am fuming and so jealous that it is ridiculous.

"Wow, so people date their friends now, typical best friends of every teen drama..." I say bitterly. The words roll out of my mouth before I can stop them.
