At around 15:00, I take a shower and finally settle on a denim jumpsuit with a short sleeved shirt, the denim jump suit is a little bit loose to fit with a grey short sleeved shirt, when I try on the outfit and look into the mirror I sigh in relief that it actually looks good. I am a little nervous about the party because I haven't had the chance to be around many people, especially people that are my age. I had to change outfits several times before finally settling on this one.

I enjoy my hair natural most of the time so I part my hair into two but into a top and bottom part and not in the middle, in the front part I follow a procedure of a South African U-tubers tutorials of natural hair styles so in the front half I tye my hair up into two buns and let the hair at the back fall freely.

I hear a knock and know that Tandeo is here. I hear him talking to my mum as he insists on waiting for me while outside. I put on some pump canvas and put some blue seal, aloe Vera flavoured Vaseline on my lips, with a final glance into the mirror I'm out.

In North Kalengwa street it is not always simple to find a cab, so Tandeo and I walk a little as we try to stop one. The party would be held near Patterson's which is honestly the opposite of the north so there is some distance in between. The streets are not so busy because it's a Saturday.

We continue to have some conversations and plenty of jokes as we walk, so much that even my belly is aching from laughing so much at Tandeo's jokes. As we are walking I accidentally step on a pothole by the road, I nearly fall as I notice a car ahead of us moving at a crazy speed.

I think that it will slow down but it doesn't and the driver ignores all the complaints and yelling from the people on the road. It comes straight towards us and as it approaches it is heading straight for Tandeo who is slightly ahead of me, I panic, my breathing becomes more difficult as I shout Tandeo's name in fear and panic, he doesn't seem to listen as the car heads straight for him...

In a panic I shout out his name and grab his hand forcefully. "What?" He says surprised. "Move away from there" he notices my urgency as we cross the road to the other side nearly just missing being hit by a black car in the spot we once occupied. The car hits into the ditch by the road which makes it stop abrubtly as smoke is released from there gathering the attention of passers by who are heading towards the car angrily towards the driver who comes out looking apologetic with hands up.

I notice a few phones here and there recording, others threatening to call the police.

"Are you okay Laika?" Tandeo asks shocked looking worried and concerned about me, "whoa, that was a close one" he breathes out.

"I'm good, are you" I ask.

"Actually yes... surprisingly...but the way you handled things it was almost like you knew what was about to happen" he looks at me shocked.

"Crazy guess but very lucky for us" I say relieved, also not understanding how I kind of saw what had almost happened.

"Whoa" we both say as a few people approach us, asking if we are okay in concern. We re assure them as the driver glances back at us severely apologizing. I know that my Zambian people would not have spared him any other way.

We let it slide as we continue on our journey in tense silence, each thinking about what almost happened. "On a light note, atleast we shall have a good story to tell the others" Tandeo jokes.

"Yes" I say distant, okay I don't know what is happening to me but I am not about to start focusing on it, what ever it is and besides it's time to live and no matter what I will ignore this nonsense happening to me, it shall not ruin my day.

"Are you sure that you are fine though?" Tandeo asks stopping as I do so. He lowers his head to my level an looks directly at me, those beautiful eyes of his focused on me, his lips are moving saying something to which I am just nodding my head...and his... STOP it Laika.
