"Kanha, where are You? Where are You trying to hide?"
Mother Yashoda called out to Her beloved son. But He was nowhere to be seen. He broke the pots of butter in the houses of the women and ran away with the milk and butter.
"If You don't come infront of My eyes now, I shall refuse to eat or drink anything." She declared and sat down holding Her face in Her palms.
Prior in the morning that day, all the Gopis and women of Braj had come to Yashoda Maiya to complain about Her baby Krishna. He was mischievous and had kept everyone on Their toes with His new tricks.
He used His catapult to break the earthen pots and tie everyone with His catapult of love to Himself. No matter how far one tried to dwell, they always found themselves pulled more closer to Him than ever.
Although the Gopis hated having Their butter stolen, They silently hoped that Krishna would come around and give Them a chance to see His beautiful form. They couldn't help but think about Him all day. When He didn't turn up or was late, They would Themselves go to His home on the pretext of complaining to Mother Yashoda, though Their motive was to have just one glance at Their beloved Kanha.
But now Maiya Yashoda was furious and frustrated with the regular complaints. She decided to teach Krishna a lesson.
But that would be possible only when He would appear infront of Her, for He was long gone in hiding.

The two giant Arjuna trees fell down with a huge thud.
"What was that sound?" Radha asked startled. Lalita, Vishakha and Radha were on Their routine trip to the nearby stream to collect water. But They stopped midway in the forest when They heard the loud rumbling sound.
The two Arjuna trees, were sons of Lord Kubera, Nalakubera and Manigriva, who were cursed by Devashri Narada and could only be freed by the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
They took a few steps more, and were greeted by Krishna Himself from amidst the trees.
"What are You all doing here? Don't You know that it is unsafe to walk through dark forests, where wild animals dwell for hunt?"
Radha widened Her eyes in shock and fear. She turned to Lalita who had an equally blank expression. But Vishakha was quick witted and had presence of mind.
"Oh Krishna! Are You trying to engage Us in the riddle of Your words? We always go to the nearby stream through this same path everyday. And it's perfectly safe."
Krishna laughed at Her reply. His mischief was caught.
Radha noticed that Krishna was tied to a huge wooden mortar. He dragged the mortar along as He walked. Probably the same mortar had been lodged between the twin trees which had fallen on the ground near Their feet where They stood.
"Kanha, who tied You up like this?" Vishakha asked. She walked upto Krishna and tried to open the ropes which bound His tummy to the mortar.
He took a step back and stopped Her from opening the ropes. "No no Vishakha! Maiya has tied them and She will only open them as per Her wish."
"If She will reopen the ropes then why did You allow Yourself to be tied then? Aren't You feeling uncomfortable?" Lalita asked out of genuine concern.
"I cannot prevent someone who tries to tie Me through love and devotion. I readily agreed to be bound by Her motherly adoration. Now it's Her desire to untie Me whenever She feels like." Krishna replied with a beaming smile.
He was Damodar, the One who is known through a mind which is purified, Udara, by means of self-control, Dama.. The One in whose bosom rests the entire Universe.
Radha stood silently and watched Them converse. They had grown such fast friends in such a short time. But Lalita and Vishakha always mustered the courage to talk to Him. Wherever whenever She tried to speak, the words only remained stuck in Her mouth and could never escape from Her mouth.
She would feel butterflies in Her stomach and get tongue tied. She still couldn't speak to Him in person and had only spoken through telepathic dreams. It was as if She could His thoughts and He could read Her mind.
Everyone got so busy after shifting to Vrindavan. It was Their first meeting hence.
And Radha still didn't know what to see. Nervousness made Her mind foggy and Her heart skipped beats.
She didn't realise how long She was standing there simply, staring at Them conversing. There were three of Them, but Radha's eyes were fixed on Krishna. His charm and charisma with which He spoke, had totally left Her enchanted.
Vishakha nudged Her with Her elbow. "Umm Radha, We are getting late. I think We should leave now. Krishna, see you soon! We shall meet again now that We live so close." She waved Him goodbye.
Radha came back to the current scene from Her daydreaming. Her Sakhis started to turn around and walk away, leaving Her behind.
Krishna too took Their leave and went towards His home, still bound to the mortar and dragging it with His miraculous strength of a child.
Krishna's feet were smeared with Alta, a red coloured Mahavar Alah dye made from lac. His footprints still had sprinkles of the dye left on the ground.
Radha touched the footprints and rubbed the dye all over Her body, thus smearing Herself in the colours of His love. She then turned and walked in the direction Her friends went.
Her cheeks flushed pink and Her entire self was blushed with crimson.
