Krishna would regularly take the cows every morning with Him to fresh and green pastures.
His Father had warned Him to be aware of the demons who had sought after Them during Their stay in Nandgaon. He was always cautious about the safety of His children, who were like carefree blooming buds of a young sapling.
A new dawn meant new adventures. And in search of new fields, Krishna's friends would travel even further from the boundaries that were allocated to Them. They had no worries or fears, They always trusted Krishna to protect Them from what may come.
"Krishna, look over there! That's a new cave! We have never been there. Come let's go!" Uddhava exclaimed with joy at His new discovery and dragged Krishna along with Him.
Even the friends, cowherds and cows of Vrindavan were so blessed to have been born in the era of Krishna. This was the result of Their pious deeds of previous lives and unbreakable devotion. The dust of Braj is truly divine and can change anyone's destiny. To be the dust under Krishna's feet, is to be in the place of utmost peace and safety.
"Wait Sakha! Don't go! That's not a cave!" Krishna shouted to prevent Them from going. But They were all long gone, engaging in Their boyhood play and pastimes, singing songs in merriment, hoping that Krishna would join Them along.
They had already entered the mouth of a fire breathing serpent.

The serpent tossed and turned, to clear his gut and fasten his digestion.
He had just had a hearty meal, swallowing small, innocent cowherd boys whole. He then closed his mouth and relaxed, hoping to devour Them.
Sent by Kamsa in an attempt to kill his nephew, who was destined to deliver him, Aghasura had entered Braj in disguise. He lay flat and unmoved on the forest ground. He transformed his huge mouth into a cave entrance, with his fangs looking like pillars and his nostrils were holes in the walls of the cave.
He rolled his forked tongue out as a velvety algae path to the cave. And the innocent friends of Krishna were tricked into thinking that it was a cave and They entered inside without thinking twice.
Krishna followed His friends to the cave to ensure Their safety. But the demon didn't know that He had entered last, and would happen to be his last meal.
He tore open the entrails of the snake demon and released His friends from his clutches. His friends lay unconscious on the ground, and He gently played His flute to awaken Them.
They didn't have any memory of the event when They woke up. They went back home happily at twilight, as They did everyday.
When Krishna came home, He found Radha waiting for Him, along with Maiya Yashoda.
"Krishna, tomorrow when You go to the pastures, please take Radha along. She needs to go through the forest path and is scared to walk alone." His Mother instructed Him.
Krishna's lips turned into a mischievous smile as He nodded His head.
