Laranya's POV
I was incredibly stupid. Despite knowing that Sumit was not the right person for me, I continued to ignore everything else and convinced myself that I loved him. However, my father, Preeti, and even Shravan were right. He was not. Shravan discussed everything with dad last night, and he did not say anything until Shravan finished. My father stood up and hugged me as soon as he finished explaining everything. That is it.
He stated that what was gone is gone, and I should let bygones as bygones and look ahead at my future. And Sumit does not deserve to be with me. Today Shravan and I are going to an unknown location. He asked if we could hang out or not, and Dad agreed. I couldn't believe it when dad immediately agreed on him. They went into a corner and said something about it being a boys' talk, and Dad laughed at it.

I awoke the next morning in a bad mood because I couldn't sleep and was thinking about yesterday. Today Shravan was going to take me somewhere, so I dressed casually and sat on the couch in my hall, doing nothing but thinking about Sumit and Aparna.
"Still thinking about Sumit?" Dad's voice came from behind me, and I smiled back. "No. I believe it was a mistake on my part. I never chose the right person in my life." I whispered. "You are wrong. You only chose one right person in your life. Shravan. He is a nice man. He has his own problems, but putting that aside, he is here by your side, talking to me about something that happened in your life." His words actually made me speechless. No one's life is perfect, and Shravan was always smiling and consoled in front of me, but he never mentioned himself. He continues to listen to me.
"You know, Laranya, you used to fall down while running, but then you tried to stand up and started running again as a child. And this time you simply fell down. You must now stand up and resume your previous running routine. Someday, maybe I won't be there-" "Dad, please don't say that," I interrupted, but was interrupted by dad, "-Listen to me first, when I'm not there, remember what I used to say. Our life cycle consists of falling while running, standing up, and then running again. Learn from it." Falling while running, getting back up, and continuing to run...
"I will always-" The bell rang, interrupting me. I stood up and opened the door to find a very attractive Shravan standing there. He wore a half-sleeved tee and jeans. I rarely saw him dressed casually. We used to hang out during our workdays. "Will you keep him standing there only or let him in too?" Dad mocked me from behind, and I responded a little. When he discovered I was checking him out, he chuckled. "Ready?" He didn't even specify what to wear. I am, of course, not ready.
"Shravan, she's almost ready, just give her a minute." Preeti emerged from my bedroom with a bag in her hand. "Take this, and Di, you come with me." She handed Shravan the bag and led me to the room. "I'm going out, so wear this quickly. "Don't question anything, I'm leaving." And then she left. What is happening?
"You're getting late now; go!" Preeti pushed me out and closed the door on my face. They were both laughing very loudly. Ughhh. This day has just begun, but it can't get any worse. Disappointed, I climbed into the passenger seat of Shravan's car. "Before you ask, today's day is completely unexpected for you, so asking anyone anything will not help. First, we're going to Juhu Beach, and then you just wait and watch." What's wrong with everyone!? They really should go to an asylum.
I sat silently for the entire ride, staring at the road ahead. "Don't slump now. Come on, stand up!" He claimed that as we approached Juhu Beach, he was standing beside me, opening the door wide for me to exit. I walked down, completely mood-less. I'm not going to lie; I'm still thinking about Sumit and Aparna. "I know what's going on in your pretty brain. Now, let's go. Come on." He smiled politely at me, but for some strange reason, I did not smile back. His words were peaceful, but they did not resonate with my thoughts.
