Shravan's POV
What I did was really not correct... We are friends and all but friends don't do this, I was almost going to kiss her shit! She makes me lose my shit every time I see her. Fuck! How can I? We are so close now, after crossing many obstacles already, I don't wanna lose her. I have to do something. I already apologised and she too let it slide but even told me to be careful! Careful? How can I be careful after looking at her big brown eyes, sharp cheek bones, soft pink plum lips.
You need to stop thinking like this. Get a hold on yourself. But wait, she also hugged me while she came out to bid farewell, what does that mean? Does she feel the same? Does she have feelings for me? Shit, I'm so messed up! I need to talk this out to someone. I think I should just go to sleep the moment I reach home. Otherwise, if I keep driving in this state then I may end up in an accident with my parents. No I can't risk them, anything -
"Shravan!!!" I heard dad shouting from beside me. "Where is your attention? Did you forget the way home? We are a lot ahead of it, take a u-turn and drive for another ten minutes!" He nearly shouted with my mom just sighing. I don't know what's wrong with her, but she is not as energetic and talkative as she used to be a couple of months ago.
Am I missing up on my parents behind Lara? I should catch up more with them. Lord I'm so distracted with my life, well my love life. "So, dad I was thinking if you both are free this Sunday? Let's go out, one day tour to wherever you guys want?" I started taking glances at him. "Are you seeing this Dipti? Our boy's in love." He pats my shoulder smiling wide at me. I think I did blush a little bit covered it up.
"No dad, what are you—" I was interrupted by mom, "I know he is. In fact he is since years... Just that the girl is too blind to look at him, or should I say busy, Shravan?" She smiled at me while speaking this and I could feel her happiness. And this exact moment I parked my car in the parking lot and opened the passenger's door for my mom and the shot gun for my dad. "He has got some gentleman quality too, where was it before a year or so? Oh how did I forget your behaviour towards women and well, men too?" Dad gave me a taunt as he was saying this and mom nudged. "Don't scare my son, Yash." She scowled.
I opened the door to my house and this discussion was still not over. "I know Dipti. I know your son is a gentleman and he has this behaviour because you were the one to grow him up, ever since I remember. He has literally all your habits and behaviour. And I'm very glad and surprised by this fact, knowing the blood that —" "Yash!" Mom shouted at him interrupting what he was saying. Well, this conversation just went from me taking them out, to them finding out about my love, then their little romance and boom.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. Shit, I'm so sorry." He hugged me tightly. I honestly didn't care about my biological parents because well, why should I? When they didn't? And ever since I remember, they're my only parents. Still, I was curious about my biological parents and whenever I asked I just got one answer that it's not their place to tell me that and that they'll tell me when I'm grown and stable enough to handle the truth, and mom says that I'll get to know when it's the right time to. Which did sound weird but I didn't have any other option except for sliding this.
I immediately hugged my dad back and ran my hand on his back. "Dad, look at me." I asked him, whispering. "I'm your son and yours only. No matter the blood that runs in my vein, I'll always be your son. I don't care who my biological name-sake parents were, you both are and will be my only parents. Just know that." I opened my hand wider and bought my mom in the hug and pecked their hair lines. Maybe after getting fresh, I'll ask them today about them. What if it's the right time now? We never know with God and our twisted fate.
"Now don't get so senti, go to your room and freshen up. You have office tomorrow." Mom rubbed her hand slowly on my arm.
As I stepped into my room, I couldn't shake the feeling that I had just dodged a bullet. My parents' conversation had taken an unexpected turn, veering off course from my initial intention of discussing my biological parents. I had always been curious about my origins, but it seemed that the time wasn't right yet.
