The final exams mark the decisive moment in the lives of university students. Jiranai diligently studied his books and worked hard on his report, as per their initial agreement. He dedicated all his time to fulfilling the promise he made to Sitang, fearing that if he didn't, things would go awry.

"Have you eaten yet?"

Despite not being able to see each other, they still exchanged messages every day. In truth, Jiranai wanted to make a phone call, but he was afraid of disturbing the other person, so he resorted to texting.

"I had some bread in the morning, noodles in the afternoon, and for dinner... not yet." Sitang's reply made Jiranai check his watch immediately. It was already nighttime, and he hadn't eaten dinner. Should he go and cook for him?

Eh! Jiranai sat up straight and immediately dialed Sitang's number. The call was picked up almost instantly. Jiranai was about to scold him when he heard laughter on the other end.

"I knew you'd call anyway!" Sitang's voice carried a playful tone.

"Have you finished your report, or are you still teasing me?"

"Just a little more to go, so I'm taking a break to cook first." Sitang switched on the speakerphone for easier access to the kitchen.

"Joke... how about a video call?" Sitang's question prompted Jiranai to pause for a moment before agreeing. He pressed the button to switch to a video call. After a brief moment, Sitang's face, with its fair skin, clear eyes, and thin-rimmed glasses, appeared on the screen, accompanied by a beautiful smile.

Jiranai couldn't help but smile in response. It had only been a few days, but he had missed Sitang a lot.

If you were to ask him if he missed him... he would say he missed him immensely. However, seeing each other like this, words like "I miss you so much" felt inadequate.

...He didn't just miss Sitang a lot; he loved him deeply.

"Me too!" Despite knowing they couldn't see each other right now and that there was still work to be done, this encouragement would turn into motivation for both of them.

" ...Take care. Let's eat early! What are you looking for back and forth?"

"I found it. When are you sending out the report?"

Jiranai glanced at the stack of books that were open on the glass table in front of the sofa where he was sitting.

"Well, it's almost done. Probably next week."

"Same here. I'm sending mine on Monday. Do you want to have lunch together that day?"

"What do you want to eat?"

"I want to eat drunken noodles now."

The innocent laughter resonated with a beautiful face and smile. They appeared on the screen together, making Jiranal's heart flutter.

"I meant next Monday, not now."

"Do you want to eat at that Vietnamese restaurant?"

There was no need to mention the restaurant's name because in his memory, there was only one Vietnamese restaurant, a small place on the second floor of a commercial building in the shopping district near the university.

"Do you want to? If not, we can go to another restaurant."

...If it's what you want, I'm all for it....
