Jiranai sat alone on the balcony of the apartment, staring at a building in the distance, a place where once someone sat with him to admire the view, but today, that person was no longer there.
...Zo had left.
...Back to Krabi...
Even though he promised to stay together, Zo had to return home. His parents were waiting there, and he pleaded for them to wait for his return.
"If you feel like dancing, I won't stop you."
Jiranai glanced at the person leaning against the balcony door with narrowed eyes and offered an irritated smile.
"Whether I dance or not is my business."
Ever since Sitang had returned to Krabi, Jiranai's mother seemed to send a different person every day to keep an eye on him. It was like a rotating guard, and today it was Jet.
And of course, this guy wouldn't let things be normal! He brought along his wife, and once they arrived, they went straight into the kitchen. After finishing their discussion in the kitchen, they came out to bother him.
"Oh! So, still dancing? Okay, dance today, tomorrow P'Zo will come to the funeral!"
"Damn it, Jeng! You're so good at pissing me off."
It seemed the more uncomfortable he was, the more God enjoyed teasing him. Sending this guy to supervise him really knew how to get under his skin. Jet grinned, then shrugged and handed him the phone. Someone was on the video call screen... it was Zo.
"Zo!" Jiranai shouted and grabbed the phone eagerly. Sitang smiled as usual and spoke from Krabi.
"Dancing? Are you skipping school?"
"You're skipping school, and the semester isn't even over yet..."
"Nothing much, what about you? Do you have free time?"
"Um, my parents and relatives are helping with the packing. That's... about it, remember?"
The mobile phone was handed to a familiar young man. Jiranai immediately recognized the companion who had joined him on the trip to Chiang Khan last time.
"Hello, P'Joke. How are you? Are you married?" He waved in a video greeting, accompanied by a question that Jiranai desperately wanted to shout in response: the person I'm going to marry is your brother.
"Hey, why are you asking? Joke hasn't finished school yet." The person on the phone replied, mixed with laughter. It seemed he didn't quite catch his cousin's sly question.
"Let me show you my mom, Joke... Here's my mother." Then, the phone was passed to a middle-aged woman smiling and waving at him. The smile resembled Sitang's. Jiranai's expression suddenly shifted, meeting his mother-in-law, but he still managed to raise a hand in respect while holding the phone. "Is this Joke?... Oh, tiger, much more handsome than in the picture."
"Thank you."
Wow, being praised by his mother-in-law made him speechless.
"Is this the guy Joke mentioned, the one he said was hanging out in Chiang Khan?"
A man's voice echoed through the phone, unknown to Jiranai but causing the people around him in Bangkok to furrow their brows.
"Yes, Father." His tightly furrowed brows quickly relaxed. His serious expression turned composed. That was his father-in-law's voice just now.
