"It's been 2 years since the first contact, and these creatures, their numbers are just growing and growing," said Rith's father while processing the crops they harvested for the day.
"It's almost your shift, son" he adds.
Rith is the son of a rice field farmer, he was born in this rural area but were raised in the city, and after the initial attack of the creatures, or the local calls them Nightcrawler, he decided to return and defend his hometown.
"yes Dad" he nods, he puts down the shovel he used to bury the corpses of Nightcrawler from the previous night
The Government have created a militia composed of locals and mercenaries called "Sicario" to defend farms and also to search and destroy night crawlers' nest to avoid them repopulating.
Sicarios are divided into two groups, those who defend the walls are called Malaikat Tanpa Sayap (wingless angels) or 'MATASA' and those who track the nests are called Malaikat Tanpa Belas Kasihan(Merciless angels) or 'MATABK'.
Rith is recruited into the MATABK unit to search and destroy the nest of the Nightcrawlers.
It rained heavily tonight. Rith puts on his gear and prepares for tonight's raid.
The government provided firearms for the locals to defend the farms, as for Rith, he was given an HK416 that had been modified to his taste, a makeshift stacked mag, a makeshift grip, used Holographic as a canted sight and a laser he found at an abandoned hiking shop. He was also given a Glock 21, which he left as it is.

Before he boards a helicopter, he makes sure to ask for his parent's blessings and prayers.
The Heli blade roars through the sky, he and 4 others are armed to the teeth, ready to take down every monster that decides they want to have bullets for dinner.
"We got activities detected ahead, possible nest, ready to rappel down." the pilot said while putting a thumbs up.
Rith was the first one to rappel down the helicopter. He raises his rifle, ready to kill. When his teammates finally made it to the ground, all 4 of them made their advance toward a suspected nest.
"7 to 8 hostile ahead" the radio informs
Everything seemed to be quiet until they were ambushed by a flying-type Nightcrawler. Rith opened fire and aimed at its weak point, the wing. The creature falls to the ground and is executed by one of the sicarios.
Their gunshots seem to have alerted the whole nest, and all 7 of them scatter to hunt Rith and his team. Rith called in for air support, requesting machine gun support from the helicopter

That's the sound of the Gatling tearing through the creatures one by one, not even the brute type survived. They are inferior compared to human manufacturing, yet breed so many times faster, on average, it only takes Nightcrawlers 3 days to be fully grown, and their number only increases each moment they don't destroy the nest.
Rith set the nest containing the nightcrawler's eggs on fire, leaving nothing but ashes to mark the fall of another Nightcrawler family.
They all return to the settlement via ground transport, they go through roads littered with the creatures' corpses that were killed by MATASA's Sicarios.
He took a short break at the camp just to see her, his crush. A woman his age who works as a volunteer doctor to treat the Sicarios and locals. Her blonde hair and blue eyes never failed to make him fall in love over and over again.
"Someone staring aye" one of the sicario members Tease him, at this point the whole organization know except her. Rith hide his face despite already wearing a balaclava
"shut up man" he gently punches his teammate on the shoulder.
He continues to look at her working, building up the courage to ask her out. After a while, he just stood up and walked to her with a determined face.
"Are you injured?" she asks him with a smile on her face, making him flutter and feel like turning back.
"I don't think so," he says shyly.
"Anything I can help with?" she smiles sweeter, enough to make Rith scream in his heart.
"Wanna go out later? Maybe to South Walls, I heard they have great food and entertainment during the day" his soul left his body.
"hmmmmm, sure! Only if you promise to treat me of course" She giggles childishly, melting his heart.
He nods and smiles, before turning away and walking back toward his seat in the cafeteria, his team cheered for him.
He reaches home at 4 am, he tries to sleep yet the excitement is holding him back, he smiles thinking about his date with her in the morning.
