"We're getting close, keep digging!"
Said one of the field directors on the archaeology site to unravel the secret of the past.
Layers after layers of nothing but dirt and stones, then there it is, a shiny ancient relic, buried between the base of an old castle of a kingdom ruled by a famous king.
"We're rich! We're rich! " the field director screamed happily at the shiny relic covered in gold and diamonds.
But things took a different turn when an archaeologist tried to extract it from the ground, and then the whole ground collapsed, revealing a much bigger room, that seems to be a tomb of some sort.
Everyone gasped in shock to see a coffin lying in the middle of the room surrounded by a dozen humanoid creatures.
There are several sectors of this tomb, so 5 of them decided to split to speed up the process.
"Ugly bastards" one of them decided to stare at the statue's eyes deeply
Out of nowhere, the statue starts cracking, the clay layer of it crumbles and the whole tomb starts shaking
"AAAAAAGGHH AAAA-" a scream of a woman can be heard from the other room.
"Probably some insects" he laughs
When the archaeologist returns his gaze to the statue, it's..gone.
He panicked and started looking around the room for the statue
"Fuck! Where did it go?!" he starts searching for his colleagues, in the other rooms, just to find their dead bodies.
"What the fuck? WHAT THE FUCK?!"
The bodies of his colleagues are left in a gruesome way, all of their inner organs are gone.
He runs away, not looking back ever again, grabs a key and starts driving recklessly, speeding up down the long road.
The local authority was alerted about the creatures later on, and military personnel were deployed.

2 years after the first contact
The government has forbade locals from evacuating the state as the farms are the main source of income for the country's economy. The creatures only attack at night which is a great advantage for the human side.
To help maintain the stability of the economy, the Military provided the local farmers with firearms and supplies to fend off the creatures at night. This story revolves around a young farmer no older than 20 trying to maintain his grandfather's ricefield that provides them food and money.
