Summers Past

Chapter 4

Summer's POV

"AUTUMN! I haven't seen you in forever!" Avi squeals on the phone, she looks exactly as when I left her. She has dark skin, Black hair tied back into a ponytail.

Angel has Black hair, falling down her shoulders. It was the first time I've ever seen it down, she's wearing all black as well.

CJ has normal black hair for a boy and a gigantic hoodie that he has had since 6th grade.

"I know! I missed you guys so much!" Leah says, screaming in my ear. "Be careful, Babe. You're going to hurt Summer's ear." Elijah says, rubbing Leah's shoulders.

"Whoa, wait a damn minute. Autumn has a boyfriend?" Angel says, brushing her hair.

I laughed, "Yup! It's kind of weird." I say stuffing one of Leah's grandma's muffins in my mouth.

"Damn. I never thought I'd see her date someone else after you know who." Angel says, rolling her eyes at the words 'You know who.'

"Who?" Luke asks, sitting down next to me. "Our ex, Juliuz Garza." Leah says, making everyone look at her.

Amelia coughs and clears her throat before asking "Our?" I laughed nervously and crossed my arms, hoping Leah or Angel could answer this question. 

"Me, Leah's and Summer's ex. He dated all three of us." Angel says over the phone, "What the hell?" Luke says.

I get a notification and check my phone. 

Private chat with Sunshine and Hunter.

Hunter - Ice. Why is your name changed to Sunshine?

Sunshine - Because I changed my name and got a new nickname?

Hunter - What's your new name?

Sunshine - Summer. Why?

Hunter - Because I want to know my friends new name?

Sunshine - Fair enough. How's Lubbock?

Hunter - Good I guess. How's Houston?

Sunshine - Hot and windy. I somewhat like it.

Hunter - Gotta go. Have fun, Ice.

Sunshine - It's Summer.

Hunter is offline.

Sunshine - Harp! Harper! Ugh. Your annoying.

Sunshine has muted the chat.

Sunshine is offline.

"Who are you texting, Sunshine?" Luke asks, attempting to look at my phone. I get startled and throw my phone across the room. 

"What? No one, Nothing." I say.

Amelia laughs with Jackson, while Elijah hands me my phone that I threw.

"Let me guess. Hunter?" CJ asks over the phone. I laughed nervously, "Yeah. How'd you know?"

He chuckles, "She texted me too."

Luke's POV

Why did she throw her phone? She could've just said that she doesn't want me to look. Is she hiding something on her phone?

All these questions are lurking in my mind as Summer drives me home, "So, that was pretty fun." She says, attempting to bring up the mood.

"Yeah, it was, Sunshine." She blushes again, she looks cute..

"Hey Sunshine?" I say, when she finally looks at me again.

"Yeah?" She says, looking like she's hiding something.

"Why do the others call you Ice? It has nothing to do with your name." I ask her, she looks straight ahead at the road instead of looking at me. 

"I um. I don't really want to talk about that, maybe some other time." She looks sad now. I didn't mean to make her sad, but now I know that whatever she's hiding has something to do with that.

"I didn't mean to make you sad. I'm sorry, Sunshine." I say, as she pulls into my driveway.

"It's okay." She gets out of the car and walks me to my front door.

I pull her into a hug, which makes her blush wild. I smirk in the hug and before I pull away, I kiss her forehead.

"I- um. I've got to tell you something." She says nervously. Is she going to tell me what I think she is?

"Yes, Sunshine?" I say, thinking I know what shes going to say.

"I like you." She says, looking down at the floor.

I put my hand on her chin to make her look at me, I lean in close to her face. "I do too." I say, making her blush.

I lean in as well as she. We kept leaning until our lips touched each other, it was the best kiss that I'd ever had. 

I'd accomplished one thing today. Now to figure out what's with the name Ice..
