Josephine "Jo" Lawrence went to Clemson University for one reason - the football program. With dreams of breaking into the male-dominated world of sports media for the sport she cares about most, she's ready for anything...except Reid Donahue.
As in, star quarterback, Heisman favorite, and future NFL #1 draft pick Reid Donahue. And to Jo, the poster boy for cocky athletes who believe their own hype - until a brutal leg injury Reid's standout sophomore season ends it all. Or so everyone thought.
Eighteen months later, Reid is back. Not because he wants to be, but because he has to be. When ESPN launches a season-long media piece on his comeback, Jo - now a senior - is chosen to lead it. Neither are thrilled to be stuck together for their final football season at Clemson, but for Jo, it's the break of a lifetime. For Reid, it's an unwanted spotlight on the pain he'd rather keep buried.
As the season kicks off, they clash over everything...except the game they both love. And somewhere between the fights, the footage, and the long weekends under the lights, they realize that maybe being on the same team isn't the worst thing after all.
