Her legs were dangling from over the edge above the quick flowing river beneath her. Ricky was sitting besides her, looking at her face in the moonlight. It was 4am and both of them weren't even a bit tired. They bought some drinks from the nearest convenience store and decided to sit by the river in quiet.

"Do your friends know you're here?" he asked her.

She shook her head. "Do yours?"

He shook his head too. "Not even Hao"

"Didn't know anything could get passed him" she locked eyes with him. "I guess you can"

It stayed quiet for a little until he spoke.

"I'm sorry for dodging your calls and only texting now. I was at the company till 3am yesterday and today I was with the others all day"

"I get it, you don't have to apologize" she mumbled. "I already had a feeling"

Ricky nodded. He then felt a little itch in his neck. He lifted his arm and pulled his turtle neck down to scratch the spot. Jiah looked up and suddenly noticed something new on his neck.

"What is that?" she pointed at the scratch.

"Oh that? I scratched myself while shaving"

"You don't shave" she placed her hand on the back of his neck and pulled him closer to her to be able to see the scratch better. "This is caused by glass"

"Since when did you become a detective?" he laughed it off and pulled his turtle neck up again. "I'm fine, don't worry about it"

"Did Mr Seo do that? Did he hurt you?"

"What made you come to that conclusion"

"Maybe because he has a few screws loose in his head and I've seen him lash out on you guys before"

"It's fine. It was an accident"

She squinted her eyes and turned away from him. She knew he was lying, but she didn't want to turn this into an argument. She finally felt at ease again after this stressful day.

"So, are you going to tell me about what happened yesterday? Before you got to the hospital"

Jiah felt tears burn in the back of her eyes. He has been honest with her from the start, yet she's been pushing him away. She didn't want to let him in on her problems knowing what he was dealing with.

"You heard what the doctor said" she smiled through her tears. "I'm fine"

"I saw your expression change when he mentioned that man you bumped into" Ricky said, his voice softening. "You aren't telling me something"

"Yeah well there's a lot you don't know yet" she whispered. "It'll take some time"

"And I'll be patient until you're ready to tell me" he placed his hand on top of hers. "But I need to know one thing.." his expression dulled. "..are you in danger?"

She lifted her head and glanced at him before laying her head against his shoulder. She took a few deep breathes before responding.

"I'm not"

He glanced at her calm expression. She closed her eyes and for a second it seemed like she had fallen asleep. He had never seen her so peaceful before. It made his heart turn in a good way.

"I have an idea for our second date" she mumbled, her eyes still closed.

"What is it?"

"Do you want to go to Namhae tomorrow?"
