Invitation

The weekend was finally here!

Lucy always enjoyed the ability to sleep-in and that fact would never change. She got up later than usual and walked downstairs, her father had already prepared breakfast and left out a note:

"Remember, today I'm leaving for the airport; I haven't left but I already miss you.

-Love Dad!!"

Her father had always been one for sappy notes, especially with her mother. She was responsible enough to be home alone, heck, she had a master's degree in nursing by the age of sixteen. She sat down and ate breakfast, wondering what she would do for the day. She could go back to sleep, it sounded like a wonderful idea. She scarfed down her food and ran upstairs, climbing into her bed and soaking in the splendorous sleep that awaited her.

Natsu woke up from yet another nightmare that had been haunting his dreams; he decided to shrug it off, it couldn't possibly mean anything. He laid back down onto the bed and stared at the ceiling until Wendy climbed under the covers with him.

"Natsu, it's time to wake up." Wendy said as she pulled him into a big hug. Natsu grabbed her and squeezed her, making her squeal.

"I know but I don't want to get up; it's so nice and peaceful here. No one disturbs you or tries to hurt you, the bed is your best friend." After Natsu made his point clear, Wendy had fallen right back to sleep with soft snores coming from the small girl.

"Sleep tight little sister and don't let the bed bugs bite." Natsu crawled out of bed and walked down into the kitchen to see if anyone was around.

"Honey, you hungry? I made waffles." Grandine walked over to the table with a plate stacked with waffles on it.

"Yes! I never refuse food mom, you know that." Natsu sprinted to table, grabbing three to start the feeding with.

"Don't scarf down the food and where is your sister?" Grandine looked at the stairs.

"She's in my room; she came to wake me up and ended falling asleep in the bed, so I left her to sleep." Natsu said with a mouthful of food.

"Oh, and don't talk with your mouth full." She scolded.

"Yes ma'am." Natsu saluted, stuffing more waffles in his mouth.

"I swear, who raised you to eat a pig?" Grandine questioned.

"Waffles? Alright!" Igneel walked into the kitchen and put a whole one in his mouth.

"I rest my case." Grandine put her hands up in defeat and put the stove on to make more food.

"What's the deal with that lady over there in the kitchen?" Igneel and Natsu laughed. Natsu shook his head grabbing four more with syrup and headed to his room. He walked up the stairs, eating and thinking what he would do next; he was thinking maybe going to the mall and seeing what his mom had in the shop. He was instantly reminded that he had to plan the dinner and party he would have to graduation. His parent would only allow him to have the party if he had a formal dinner. Natsu dread the formal clothes that he would have to wear but it was all worth the party he would throw after.

Lucy got up from her bed and looked at the clock, she had only gotten an hour more sleep but it was just enough for her. She jumped up out of bed and ran into the bathroom, deciding on going to the mall, making every effort to get out of the house. She quickly got through the regular routine and rushed out of the house.

Natsu approached the mall, having a feeling that something good would happen and right then he saw Lucy Heartfilia pulling in at the exact same time.
