After the whole incident, Cordelia showed me to my room and made my bags appear. I made a mental note to practice my telekinesis so I could do that too. I settled in and took out my things to decorate the once bland room. It looked nice and actually felt a little like home already. I sat on the bed admiring everything I did after hours of work. I heard a soft knock on my door and I told them they could come in. "I forgot to tell you, the girls are all out. You happened to come on Christmas break and they're with their families" she said quietly.
I nodded, makes sense why the house is so empty now. I figured it couldn't just be her living in this big house all by herself. "I made dinner for us if you wanna come down, or I could bring yours up here" she said sounding hopeful. "I'll come down, I just need a minute to change" I replied and her eyes seemed to light up. She nodded, closing the door behind her, and I heard her footsteps travelling down the stairs. I got up and changed into something a bit more comfortable before heading down.
I was immediately met with the most wonderful smell. Whatever she had cooked smelled absolutely delicious, I wasn't used to home cooked meals. I could also just be extremely hungry. I went into the kitchen where I heard a bit of noise and there she was. Using a ladle to put what I assumed was soup into two bowls. "Hi" she said without turning to face me, "how'd you know I was here?" I ask knowing I had been quiet.
"I could feel your energy in the room" she said, chuckling a bit. She finally turned around and I swear I'd never get tired of seeing her face. Every time was like the first, she took my breath away each time. I followed her to the dining table where she sat our bowls down and handed me a spoon. We sat in a comfortable silence for the first few spoonfuls of our meal. I was so into my food that I didn't realize she had spoken to me.
Cordelia's pov
She seemed to really like the soup which made me so happy. I tried asking her about it but she was pretty distracted. "Y/n..." I said a bit louder to get her attention and she immediately turned to me. Her y/e/c eyes widening and looking deep into my own. She could easily wrap me in a trance with those eyes but I stopped myself from falling. "I said... it's nice to have you here. I'm usually by myself while the girls are on break" I said softly. She gave what looked like a sad smile but quickly fixed it.
"Yeah I don't think you'll have that problem anymore. I don't exactly have family to visit... you'll honestly most likely get annoyed with me" she said nervously laughing. How could I ever get annoyed with her? She was the most adorable little thing I'd ever seen, there was just something about her. "I don't think that's possible" I said before I could even think about it.
I saw her lightly blush and she looked down trying to hide it. I don't think there's anyone cuter than this woman before me. "How old are you?" I asked suddenly, surprising myself. "23" she said quietly, I was quite surprised to say the least. "Oh ok" I said, not trying to hide my surprise or excitement. "H-how old are you?" she asked timidly and I softly smiled, "I'm 35" I said quietly. It was silent for a moment and my nervousness began to grow.
"How are you so accomplished this young?" she asks, looking at me expectantly. I couldn't stifle the chuckle that came from the depths of me. "Sorry, I'm not laughing at you, I promise. Ummm I don't really know I guess, it kind of just happened. I mean- a lot of hard work of course, I haven't always been like this. Then one day I just woke up and, after years of dedication, I came into who I was I guess" I say thinking about each word carefully. No one had ever really asked me that and I, myself, didn't really know the answer.
I didn't like to seem like I was boasting about my accomplishments. "I hope I turn out even half as good as you" she whispers but loud enough for me to hear. I can feel my cheeks heating up, I never knew how to react to praise. It was so foreign to me and I didn't want people to think I thought I was better than them. "I'm sure you'll be much better than me" I said kindly hoping to get a smile. I knew I achieved my goal when I saw a small smile on her face.
