After all that, we finally went back to life as normal. We shared more laughs and smiles than we ever had before. We were laying in bed and she was laughing about something I'd said. "Babe, I peed myself again" she pouted and I laughed even harder. "Is not funny!" she exclaimed as I helped her out of bed to clean the sheets. As I was looking though, I realized that was a lot more than usual. It wasn't even yellow, which shouldn't be concerning because she drinks a lot of water. However, something just felt weird so I walked up to her. "How do you fe-" I was cut off by her letting out a sharp sound of pain.

"That's what I suspected" I said nervously, "I think the baby is coming" she said shakily. "Ok, don't be scared. I'll be right here the entire time, I promise" I said taking her hand. I used all the strength I have and possibly a little magic to pick her up. "Babe I can wa- shit" she exclaimed and I kissed her forehead before carrying her to the car. I drive as fast as I could, while still being cautious of the road. We made it to the hospital faster than I could've hoped and she seemed calm. "Alright, love, we have to get out now. Just remember to breathe and stay calm" I say softly. She nods and I help her out the car supporting her since she insisted on walking herself.

As soon as the doors to the emergency room open, I grab a wheelchair and put her in it. "My wife is in labor" I say and look at her smiling like an idiot. A nurse comes over and takes her back as I follow right next to her, holding her hand. We make it to the room and I help her into a gown and onto the bed. A doctor comes in and puts her feet in the stirrups to check her cervix. "She's not there yet but it should only be 20 minutes max" the doctor says and I nod in response. She leaves and asks me to press the button when her contractions are close and strong. She also showed me how to check her dilation per my request.

I have read so many books, I feel like I could deliver the baby at this point. "Alright. The doctor said you're 8 centimeters dilated, we're almost there" I say happily. She looks at me tiredly as she nods and sweat beads appear on her forehead. "Fuckkkk" she yells resting her hands on her belly and I wipe her forehead lovingly. "Check again" she says for the 5th time in the last 10 minutes. "I think-" I start but she cuts me off, "I said. Check. Again" she growls and I check again to see that she's actually ready. I press the button and the doctor, along with a nurse, is there in seconds.

"Seems like mama is ready, in a few seconds I'm going to ask you to give me a big push ok?" the doctor asks calmly and Delia nods eagerly as she sits up slightly. I reach out for her hand but she pulls it back and watches the doctor. "Deep breaths, baby" I say as I realize she's holding her breath. "Fuck deep breaths. I want this baby out of me, now" she spats. "The only way we can achieve that, is if you relax, honey" I say sweetly. "We? Are you the fucking doctor?! Last time I checked I was the one carrying this baby, not you! Get out" she exclaims and I stand there in shock not knowing what to do. "Alright, it's time to push. I need you to relax your muscles first" the doctor says.

She looks between me and Delia, "why are you still standing there?" Delia asks me angrily, "ma'am I'm sorry but, I'll need you to leave if you're upsetting her" the doctor says. I look at Delia one more time before walking towards the door. I hear her scream and instantly turn around out of habit. "Oh my god pleaseee. Y/n, I need you, please don't leave me" she cries. I rush back over and grab her hand, letting her know I'm there. The doctor just smiles, trying to hide a laugh, like she sees this all the time. Delia pushes and takes it like the strong woman she is and delivers our baby girl.

As she said, she wanted to name the baby Maria and I agreed that it's a beautiful name. They handed our healthy baby girl to her as soon as they cleaned her up. I got to cut the cord and everything, it was such a magical experience. They left the room to give us some privacy and we stared at the baby, in awe of her beauty. I knew she would be perfect because she came from Delia.

"I'm sorry about what I said, I didn't mean it" she says. "You did. It's understandable, you were right and I should've listened to you" I said sadly. "No baby, I promise I wasn't, not entirely. She is just as much your baby as she is mine, regardless of the fact that I carried her. You were there with me every step of the way" she expresses while tearing up.

"Don't cry, I accept your apology honey" I say sincerely and kiss her forehead.
