After being informed of his arranged marriage and Carnelian being taken to god knows where, Zeltron stayed in his old room and cried. He couldn't bear to marry Jack. Especially since his heart belonged to someone else. As the hours pass and the sun rises, Carnelian remains in a deep state of panic. His heart is racing and his body cold, his breath remains shaky as he stares at the door and waits for anything to happen. His ears strain to hear anything but there's nothing other than Zeltron's weeping in the next room and the sound of his father's voice occasionally. He looks at the locked door and sighs, trying to relax. He leans his back against the wall and lets his eyes roam around the room. There's nothing he can do here, nothing other than wait.

Zeltron eventually stopped his weeping and tried to call himself down. He had to find Carnelian but he also had to wait, because if they left immediately they'd be caught again in an instant. Zeltron needed to plan ahead. Carnelian waits for what seems like hours before he hears Zeltron stop crying. That brings at least a little bit of comfort to him as he waits.

Carnelian's eyes remain glued to the door, he's not going to look away for even a second in fear something might happen if he does. He looks around the room once more and then sighs. He doesn't see anything that can help him get out of the room without help from Zeltron. His ears strain to hear anything but there's nothing, the house has been quiet the entire time.

Zeltron looked over at the wall, his old room was beside the room his father always kept locked. He got up and walked over knocking on the wall to see if anyone was in the room. Carnelian listens carefully but doesn't hear anything from the other room. He looks back at the door, hoping he'd hear something. Carnelian's heart jumps in his chest at the sound of the knocked, his eyes darting to the door. A flicker of hope sparks in his eyes only for there to be silence that follows the knock. His cheeks remain a shade of pink and his breathing grows shaky. He looks back at the door and presses his lips together, his mind racing with a million possibilities as to what's happening on the other side.

Zeltron knocks again. "C'mon someone answer." He whispered to himself, knocking on the wall again, hoping and praying that if Carnelian was on the other side that he'd answer him. A few more seconds pass and Carnelian hears something that makes his eye's light up. The sound of Zeltron's voice reaching his ears fills him with hope and his breath quickens. "Zel?" He whispers, his voice coming out barely louder than a whisper.

His ears perked up and he listens carefully to see if he hears Zeltron's voice again. Zeltron, not being an elf and unable to pick up as much sound as Carnelian could, felt his hope disappear. He knocked again, though it was weak. "Please answer me...knock back..." He mumbled as tears filled his eyes again.

A smile quickly spreads across Carnelian's face as he hears Zeltron calling for him again. His eyes light up and his body warms as his fears lessen. He leans forward and knocks back gently. "It's me! I'm here!" He whispers back, his heart beginning to beat faster once more. He glances back at the door and waits for Zeltron's response.

Zeltron, who already had tears rolling down his face from under his mask, looked up. He pressed an ear against the wall and knocked again. "Hello?" He whispered. Carnelian hears Zeltron on the other side and smiles once more. He knocks back once more, more loudly this time. His entire body grows warmer as he can't help but be optimistic. "Hey! I'm here! Can you help me get out of here?" He asks, his voice louder this time.

Zeltron, hearing Carnelian, felt hope rush throughout his body. He nodded forgetting Carnelian couldn't see it before he spoke again. "I'll sure as hell try. Father is hosting a dinner with Jack. I'll see if I can get you out then since father didn't lock my door... Will that work?"Carnelian nods and a sigh escapes his lips. "Yeah...that would be great. Just... be careful." He whispers back.

He's glad Zeltron has a plan, albeit a risky one. He's hoping his boyfriend can get him out of this mess, he just doesn't want anything bad to happen to Zeltron as a result. He looks around the room again, his eyes darting about. There's nothing he can do, nothing he can manipulate to get himself out. Zeltron smiled and knocked again.

"Be safe...I love you."Carnelian's eyes widen in surprise. Zeltron's words seem to catch him off guard. He looks back at the wall, his mind going to work. What did Zeltron mean by that? His cheeks remain pink as he wonders if maybe he misheard. He feels his heart flutter in his chest and a soft smile stretches across his lips as he looks at the wall. "I love you too." He whispers. It takes everything in him to hold back his emotion wanting to stay calm and composed for Zeltron's sake.
