Plagued Love

Both swam to the surface after they knew the two were gone, gasping for air. Carnelian glances around and looks for any sign of Zeltron. Once he sees the surface of the water is clear of the two and Zeltron is nearby, he swims over to him and hugs him tightly. "Oh...oh thank god... I was terrified." He whispers, his face still a shade of pink but his breathing is much more steady now. "Are...are you alright?" He whispers quietly before kissing Zeltron's cheek. Zeltron giggles and smiles as they tread water. "I'm okay."Carnelian sighs and smiles. He takes hold of Zeltron's hand and begins swimming to shore. His face remains pink as the cold water seems to bother him less and less. 

"You scared me, Zeltron. Don't do that again." He whispers. He squeezes Zeltron's hand and squeezes slightly, his grip tightening as if he never wanted to let go. "You're mine and I'm not gonna let anyone touch you, I promised I'd protect you...and I will." His voice is slightly louder than a whisper but still remains soft and kind. Zeltron smiled at this and cuddled against him once on shore.

"Thank you...I mean that."Carnelian smiles and wraps an arm around Zeltron as they sit on shore. They sit there quietly, Carnelian's cheeks still pink and Zeltron's cheek covered in kisses. His arm remains around Zeltron as he leans his head on his boyfriend's shoulder."You don't have to thank me. I'm doing what I promised I would as your boyfriend. And I love doing it....I'd hate for anything to happen to you. " He says, his words still soft and quiet but loud enough for Zeltron to hear. Zeltron relaxed into his grasp, sighing happily as he closed his eyes, smiling under his mask as he sat there with him. Carnelian can't help but smile as he feels Zeltron relax. 

He leans his head on Zeltron's shoulder and closes his eyes for a moment. He inhales a deep breath, feeling his heart race in his chest. He leans back a bit and looks up at the stars, closing his eyes for a moment. "Can I ask you something?..." His voice is back to being quiet and soft. "Of course darling."

Zeltron said, opening his eyes again, looking at him. Carnelian's cheeks redden again and his gaze is focused on the lake. His face grows slightly warmer and his grip on Zeltron's hand softens. He pauses for a moment as if he's contemplating telling Zeltron his secret.

"Um...Zeltron? Please don't be mad at me, but...can I tell you something?" He whispers, his breath quiet and shaky. "Of course you can, you can tell me anything."Zeltron responds. Carnelian is silent for a moment...he takes in a deep breath and exhales. His eyes look back at Zeltron and his body tenses for a moment. "Zeltron...uh...you know how I told you I'd tell you everyrhing once we got to safety?" He whispers, his voice soft and shaky. "I have to tell you...something that I...forgot to mention." He swallows and looks down at the water, his cheeks still a shade of pink.

"Uhm...remember when I said my memory was a bit spotty...I forgot to mention something...uh...about...myself." Carnelian whispers, his eyes darting to meet Zeltron's and he looks like he's about to cry. He swallows and rubs his eyes, trying to keep his composure. His body remains tense and his breath is soft but filled with anxiety. "Can...can you promise not to hate me?" He whispers softly, his eyes darting to meet Zeltron's. They're filled with tears as he waits for a response. 

"I promise I won't hate you."Zeltron said calmly, holding his face in his hands. Carnelian nods and takes a deep breath, seeming to be trying to calm himself. He seems anxious to tell Zeltron his secret and his body is still tense despite Zeltron's words. "I...well...you know how I said I'm part elf?" He whispers, his voice still soft and quiet. "Well...um...I'm not...not fully at least...I'm half elf." He looks down at his feet, his cheeks still a shade of pink. "And I uh...forgot to mention the other half..."Zeltron tilted his head."Really?"

Carnelian nods quickly, a few tears running down his cheeks. "Yes...I'm half elf...half demon." A few more tears fall down his cheeks as he looks up at Zeltron. "I...I hope you'll still love me...I...I'm sorry I never told you..." His breath is shaky and his grip on Zeltron's hand is tight. "Huh....Well that explains the tail."Zeltron said before cuddling against him."Besides I could never hate you."

Carnelian tries to smile at Zeltron, his lips curving up slightly but not enough for it to be a complete smile. "It does...yeah...I just...you deserve to know the truth. I don't know why I kept something so important hidden from you..." He whispers, burying his head in Zeltron's chest. "I'm so sorry...I just..." He starts to sob softly, his words becoming harder to understand. "I love you so much, I swear I always wanted to tell you...I just..." He trails off into his sobs. 

Zeltron pulled off his mask and tilted his head up, kissing him gently and lovingly. Carnelian looks up at Zeltron, his tears coming to a stop as he stares back into his eyes. His body relaxes and his grip on Zeltron's hand loosens significantly as he smiles slightly. He wraps an arm around Zeltron and pulls him closer, pressing his forehead against Zeltron's as he kisses him. 

"I love you...so much..." He whispers, smiling slightly as his emotions start to settle. "And I'm sorry...for not telling you sooner. You deserved to know.""It's okay love...". Zeltron responds, rubbing his back and allowing him to lay with his chest, staying like that under the willow tree of the night.
