Chapter Eighteen

P. O. V. = Madison Newman

Sure I was completely and utterly drunk but I at least had enough common sense to know what ever Harry had up his sleeve wasn’t too virtuous. “Harry, sorry ole pal but I have to leave.”  I uttered before attempting to sweep him to my right. I knew I had to meet up with Kaitlin.

Harry grunted. Like legit grunted, a bull like huff and then shook his head. Aw. The poor boy thinks he becomes an animal when he’s had a bit too much liquor. In a jagged in slurred moment I saw him attempt to pull me back into his arms, without so much as a thought I whipped my hand across his face and sprinted out the door in my high heels and everything. I never imagined myself being in that predicament but not that I was I left a jolt of energy. I JUST FREAKING SLAPPED A WORLD FAMOUS BOY BAND MEMBER. Oh lord what’s become of me? Next thing I know I’ll be murdering Adam Levine.

Figuring I was far enough from the part I stopped for a second ripped the terribly small high heels from my aching feet. Maybe I should call somebody to pick me up given the fact I was stranded— SNAP! A bright flicker of light went off followed by many others, all swarming my vision. “Oh lord I know I’m drinking under age but did you really have to blind me? Oh well we’re still friends, right? AMEN!”

Somewhere around me I heard a chuckle as more and more flashes exploded. Confused I whipped my phone out and turned it on for the slightest comfort of light to see half dozen paparazzi surrounding me. It wasn’t god, I thought bluntly to myself. Quickly ran and I whipped out my phone and called to see where ever the limo driver was parked. Suddenly I was EXTREMELY happy Liam had decided to tell the driver to stay and park. Within a few minutes I had been picked up.

The man in the driver’s seat nodded a hello. “Those boys break your heart?” he questioned as if it were the only reasonable answer.

“Er … Uh … no … I have a friend who needs help.” I admitted nearly blushing, did he really think that they’d break my heart? Huh.

Whilst starting the car the limo driver released a loud humph and sped out of the lot. “What’s the address Miss?” He said looking at me with his cold blue eyes through the rearview mirror. Without hesitation I fed him the address, Kaitlin and I had been friends forever and sadly I knew her address more than I knew mine. I guess when you’re best friends with someone you’d rather leave your celebrity date at a party by himself.

As soon as Maddie left I was almost swept with a feeling of bliss, not because she was gone of course but rather since we were an “item” . . . really. I thought she was gorgeous, no rather KNEW she was gorgeous and that I was blessed to even be dating her.

“You okay, mate?” Louis chirped elbowing me playfully. He gave me a grin as he adjusted his blazer, of course only he would be the only one wearing a blazer at a formal party like this.

Beaming at him I nodded. “Hell yeah! This is amazing, she ACTUALLY likes me!” I shouted nearly tripping while doing some sort of jig. Something about the actuality of this all made me all giddy inside.

“Well then again you are famous, I mean who wouldn’t want to date you?” Louis bantered causing me to chuckle as he ran off to find Harry. I knew she wasn’t like that but it was funny to think of her swooning over someone just because he was famous. Maddie truly was a great girl; in fact she’d rather blow off a party in order to help out her best friend. That’s what I call loyalty.

Not wanting to appear like a loner I rushed off to find Niall and Alana wherever the pair was. Something that Niall would never admit to himself was that he fell WAY too easily and often got his heart broken after a night with a girl. He was the hopeless romantic type and sometimes the girls were more in love with Niall Horan rather than Niall. Rushing over to a bar I looked around for a blonde/brown haired boy but of course he was nowhere to be found. I knew that if Niall was missing he was either dead or drunk. I was going to go with the latter.

Quickly I ran up to a bar tender. “Do you know where a drunk, blond Irish man went?” I called out.  The bartender just shook his head and continued to serve customers. So in odd change of events he wasn’t completely drunk.

Or maybe not I thought as a Niall look alike attempted to twerk against a wall with two other girls. Both were brunette and obviously not Laney. “Hey Nialler, Laney didn’t work out?”

Slowly he got back up as drunk as can be a grinned. “Naw, she was too prissy. I’m fine though. Just a bruise.” He beamed showing me a literal bruise. “Twerking a little hard.” Just like himself he began to guffaw.

“Now Nialler I have a question, did she do this? Did you get crushed again?” I asked almost immediately regretting it. my friend’s smile suddenly faded and ceased into nothingness.

Visibly he shrunk down and huffed. “Yep. I don’t know man, maybe I’m just mad. I hear the birds don’t like crazy lads. Also apparently I move to fast.” Niall rolled his blue eyes and then shook his head. “I just don’t know.”

“Well I’m sorry Niall but one day your princess will come!”
