Chapter Ten:

            P. O. V. = Madison Newman

The rest of mine and Harry, but mostly Harry’s since I’m a native, exploration went by in a flash. We ate lunch at some fast food chain and then went shopping, but we were home before I knew it. The whole time I couldn’t keep my mind off the kiss, it didn’t even make things awkward and Harry pretended it never happened. Still my mind kept wander, right now I really felt like a, well slut. I practically hooked up with three guys, sad thing is I have feelings for all of them. Oh god, I’ve really dug myself deep.

“Hey, Maddie, can I talk to you ‘bout something?” Harry said carrying the two Vanilla Bean Frappes he had ordered for us as he sat down at park bench, he wasn’t joking around any more like he had the whole day. He almost seemed . . . sad? He glanced down at me as he handed me the coffee, returning his gaze as I sipped I looked up.

“What’s wrong, Hazza?” I inquired taking in another long sip of the cold vanilla. Harry sat beside me on the old wooden bench. He looked me dead in the eyes, and I have to admit I was tempted to kiss him again. With Olympic strength I resisted the urge, and continue to eagerly inhale the drink.

There was something wrong with the way he sat with his back hunched over, he looked depressed. “Um . . . Maddie I want to tell you I like you, it’s just . . .” he look both ways before speaking, making sure there wasn’t anyone in hearing range. “You’re supposed to be dating Liam and your sort of dating Niall and I don’t want to get caught up in a relationship I might get rejected in. I really like you but . . . I don’t want to look like the bad guy in front of the rest, stealing Liam and Nialler’s girl, no thanks.”

I laughed Harry’s remark and couldn’t help but spit a little bit of the coffee out, “Hey, don’t worry. I’m not marked as anyone’s yet but I’m not exactly ready for anything special. I don’t necessarily want to get in between the band by picking a one fellow and causing a conflict.” I say to harry, his back hunched over, he was expecting me to say, “Oh Harry of course I choose you, you’re so cheeky and adorable!”

“Hey come on; let’s head out to the hotel. Do you know what Louis wanted to talk to Liam about?” I asked standing up as Harry smirked, what was he not telling me? Maybe he was just trying to regain his composure; still he was eerily giving me a knowing smirk. “Err . . . Haz? What are you thinking about?”

“What? Oh nothing, Madeline, I'm a good boy!” Harry said using the nickname he had given name although he obviously knew that wasn’t my name. For whatever reason he thought it was hilarious calling me that because apparently “Madeline” makes him think of maids and I most definitely do not look like a maid so he had decided that would be my new name, I mean I didn't complain. He was Harry freaking Styles! I still can’t believe I’m so comfortable with these boys; it’s as if we’ve been best mates all our life.

“Are you sure Harold?” I smirked back at him as he rolled his eyes, if he pulled the fake full name card I would too. We had this thing going where there was a constant competition since we were so much alike. “Now, Harold, tell me what’s going on!” I demanded standing up a bit straighter.

Harry rolled his eyes AGAIN; I mean seriously, we all get he’s a teenager but really! Show some respect for your youngsters. Suddenly Haz’s phone beeped meaning he had a new text, sloppily Harry pulled out the iPhone from his jeans pocket and read over the text, a mile wide smile spreading across his face, “Harry? Who’s the text from?” I asked as he forces his lips into mine. This one wasn’t sweet and caring like Liam’s or gentle and careful like Niall’s but eager and careless. I tried pulling away but he pulled me back. I didn’t want this. It wasn’t right and I knew it. Nervously I pulled away, this time being able to separate my lips from his.
