Chapter Eleven:

            P. O. V. = Madison Newman

Three days, seventeen phone calls, and three trips to the boy’s hotel room have gone by. Liam won’t answer my calls, actually he declines then and I know exactly that since they only get to about the third ring before I get sent to the answering machine; I’ve actually tried calling Niall but sadly he says he can’t tell me what’s wrong. I don’t know what’s going on with the boys, they’ve even moved to a different hotel room so I couldn’t contact them but they don’t have the courtesy to call me and tell me why. Anxiously I grab my cell and punch in Liam’s number; I had memorized it from using it so often. The press were beginning to suspect something since we haven’t been seen together lately.

The phone rings twice before clicking to my surprise. “Li? Oh thank god! Why haven’t you been answering my calls?” I asked oddly feeling like Niall when I had been ignoring their calls in what seemed like weeks ago.

“We have an interview today, get ready. We’ll pick you up at two.” His tone is flat and I can’t help but feel worried. And an interview? Oh that won’t work out good.

“Li? What’s wrong?” I asked letting the whole interview ordeal slip my mind, something was seriously wrong.

“Oh so now you care about how I feel?” he snapped and I couldn’t help but flinch from the sound of his words coming from the receiver, his words burned me like a slap.

            “Liam, what do you mean?”

“Nothing. Just be ready for our interview . . . hey I have to go . . . um, get ready.” He mutters. I didn’t want to let him off so easily yet I didn’t know exactly what to do.

“Um . . . okay. Can you put Niall on the phone?” I ask, you could practically cut the awkwardness with a knife and I needed to talk to someone not so sullen.

“’Ello?” a familiar Irish voice asked through the phone, I smiled although he couldn’t see me. He had a soothing voice which caused me to forget all my problems, almost.

“Hey, it’s Maddie. Will you tell I’m sorry for lying to him . . . to him and by the way, what’s this about an interview?” I asked Niall, I knew my lies would catch up with me I just never assumed I would ruin everything so much. I could feel Niall in the other side groan.

“What about me? What about me, Maddie? When you were leaking everything from you heart you seemed to forget to mention this was all a hoax, I had to hear it from your best friend!” He sounded angry and I don’t think I’ve even heard Niall lose his temper not to mention for no reason, I mean I told him EVERYTHING and then some.

“What are you talking about, Niall? Who said this?” I hearted started to thump in my chest and my breathing was hitched, Kaitlin didn’t know the WHOLE truth . . . I had only trusted  Niall to tell him everything.

            “Erm . . . an Alyssa, I think why?”

I felt my pulse race and I started to mutter every curse word I knew to myself, Alyssa was the girl absolutely despised me and I could understand why. When we were younger we would spit out all the mean comments and curse words we knew at each other and then when she became little Miss Popular her main goal was to ruin my life. “She’s not my friend!” I felt myself defending the fact. What had she said?

“What do you mean? She seemed to know a lot about what was going on with you . . .” Niall said suspicion leaking his words. I huffed slightly annoyed with the conversation.
