A/N sorry last chapter was TERRIBLE and this one is short and a filler but . . . please read on!

Chapter Fourteen:

P. O. V. = Madison Newman

Niall and I were too busy chasing pigeons to be worried about the several phone calls both of our mobiles, it wasn’t everyday he could forget about all the fame and act like a normal guy. Yup, he had told me about it. We were the perfect companions in the way that we completely understood each other to a tee. Hey I guess the lad was just one of those people you couldn’t help but spill your guts out and chase pigeons with. Fighting another fit of giggles I turn my head to the buffoon with the pigeon poop and feathers covering his muscle shirt, meeting my gaze he beamed an overly wide smile. “Oh Maddie I know you want to give me a hug when I have all this pigeon crap on me!” He bantered although you obviously know the Irish boy didn’t say “crap”.

“Erm . . . not to be rude or anything but no!” I squealed as he picked me up and flung me over his shoulder. I was somewhat glad we ditched the mall for soft pretzels and lemonade at a small park. Overcome giggles I pounded his back. “Hey Nialler, let me down!”

“If you say so!” He said with enough oh-I’m-going-to-prove-you-wrong in his voice to know he was grinning like an idiot. Carelessly he dropped me on a patch of clovers on the moist ground.

“Oi! That wasn’t very nice!” I claimed smiling at him . . . for a second I could’ve sworn he had started to learn in. Oh god I didn’t need more blood on my hands, I had already convinced Harry and Liam I was interested in them I didn’t Niall too!

Giving me a little chuckle the Irish boy returned the favor and plopped beside me. Like the first time we had met he separated a piece of my hair and began to braid it, the world just seemed utterly perfect right now and I couldn’t help but smile at it all. “Do you like Liam?” He suddenly asked putting a bit of a damper on my sunshine. I didn’t know. Liam was a great guy but did I real like him anymore, there was just too much drama.

“Um . . . I dunno. He a great—well it’s complicated.” I answered back picking a clover from the grassy ground. Inspecting it hopefully I drop it seeing that it only holds three leaves.

Niall gave me a knowing smile, “You know you can tell me, right?” looking into those deep blue irises I knew I could trust him, he was literally my diary . . . I could spill my guts out to him.

“Yeah,” I admitted. “Well I don’t know. Liam’s so sweet and well perfect whilst I sort of like you.” Immediately after saying the words a blush spread over my cheeks and Niall laughed softly—or a soft as he could manage. That didn’t help, when you tell someone you like them you usually don’t laugh at them.

“Madison Newman, I like you too. It’s just that I think Liam really likes you and you are more like a friend than a lover.” He smiled brushing the edge of my cheek before standing up. He really was a sweet guy and I completely understand where he is coming from, slowly I followed his lead and stood up as well, dusting the dirt from my jeans. “Alright I guess I better answer my mobile now since I have four missed calls from Liam.” Niall laughed picking his the now ringing phone and pressing it to his ears.

“Hey Li, calm down!” Niall’s brow suddenly crinkled. “What? How?” Niall listened to Liam talking on the other side a bit. “Liam it’s not your fault, don’t think like that. We’re coming right away.” Quickly he muttered his condolences and hung up. What had Liam done or at least thought he did?

“Where are we going?” I ask as a cloud of darkness covers my stomach, I couldn’t help but wonder what was waiting for me.

“Harry’s in the hospital, we aren’t leaving tomorrow anymore.”

            P. O. V. = Liam Payne

Okay so maybe I should’ve let Harry go . . . I mean usually when someone’s face is violet it’s usually a sign they need to breathe. I’m the father of the band I should’ve just let him go no matter how much of a brat he was being. I mean he was mad and was fighting with his best friend, his Boo Bear, I couldn’t hold it against him. It was all my fault he was in the hospital in our tour was on a stand still. Ugg I didn’t not like knowing I had stopped the rest of the tour.

“Um . . . Mr. Payne? May I talk to you?” The doctor asked peeking into the waiting room where I saw seated with a coloring book and Crayola’s in my hand. Gingerly I stood up and my way over to the mousy haired lady, she was tiny and petite in every way except the fierceness in her eyes.

“Um . . . yes?” I asked the lady as she smiled at me, you could tell she knew who we were and was trying awfully hard not to fangirl.

“You are here for Mr. Styles, yes? You were there when he had first passed out right?” The lady asked. I nodded, I remember how the car had suddenly become silent . . . no grunts, no hisses from the holding of breath.

            “Yes ma’am.”

She nodded. “Don’t blame yourself. Mr. Styles has a slight lung dysfunction and the sudden lack of oxygen had made it clear . . . he’s probably has some slight variant of asthma?” I shook my head . . . I don’t think he had asthma. “Well, his birth records show that he was born with less lung capacity than the average human, it was probably so slight you could pass it off as asthma and he either did or didn’t even realize it. I suppose with you boys being in a band he was able to gain a higher lung capacity than thought possible. It’s clearly a birth defect so you needn’t worry you’ve brought this on.” The doctor confirmed. Huh, so Harry had something like asthma and he never brought this up to us. It might’ve also caused his to do poorly when we first preformed What Makes You Beautiful live and he didn’t have enough air to complete the solo. Surely he was nervous too, but it wasn’t his entire fault!

“Okay thank you, so how long will he have to stay in the hospital?” I asked hoping for a day or two since she didn’t make it seem like too big of a deal.

“Um . . . that’s hard to say. A week maybe . . . He’ll probably be going into surgery and then a brisk breathing therapy afterwards . . . I’m sorry if you had other plans. I nodded although I was seriously mad . . . how could’ve this happen? We were to be moving on to the next destination our tour now which was Tampa and I couldn’t help feel that this was entirely fault.

P.S.S The song on the side is Nickelback's Far Away which was the only song that could motivate me and it really fits with the story!
