It’s finally time to discuss my wedding. The happiest day of my life. The day when Filip and I finally became one. I had something old, the dress from my mother. It was also something blue because I used my magic to repair and improve on it. I had something borrowed from Agnes. She let me wear her necklace from when she married my father. My something new came from Ingrid, she gave me something else. Ingrid gave me her trust. She trusted me completely. We were sisters, at least to her we were. My opinion changed depending on how she treated me.

I remember waking up that day. I was up before everyone else. In fact I woke them up that morning. It was also Ingrid’s birthday so I did something special for her. I grabbed her clothes for her and laid them out. Then I got her present ready and baked her a cake. I went back to my room and she was still asleep, “Ingrid, wake up. Ingrid, it’s your birthday, get up. Ingrid!” I exclaimed
“What?”
“Come down stairs, I have a surprise for you.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s your birthday and I didn’t want you to feel sad at the wedding today.”
“Oh, thank you Linnea. That’s quite thoughtful of you.”
“Come on, we don't want the cake to spoil.” I replied. Ingrid and I went down the stairs. There on the dining room table was Ingrid’s gift and a small birthday cake for the two of us. With all of the fuss focused on the wedding no one stopped to remember Ingrid’s birthday. I thought it would be nice to celebrate before the wedding. Just the two of us.

I even made a small figurine for the cake out of my ice. I then grabbed a small candle and Ingrid used her powers to light it. We sat in the dark in front of the candle. I handed her the gift. When she opened it her face brightened. I had made her a necklace of my ice, I had frosted a small flower so that it could live forever. It was a perfect combination of our powers. She put it on and then turned her attention to her cake, “Happy birthday Ingrid. Now make a wish and blow out your candle.” I said
“Linnea, I don’t deserve any of this. The way I treated you was harsh. I don’t deserve to have you for a sister…”
“Ingrid, stop saying that. It’s your day just as much as it is mine. Now blow out the candle. It is your birthday after all.” I replied. She looked at the candle. Then she closed her eyes and blew out the candle. “What did you wish for?” I asked
“I can’t tell you. If I do it won’t come true.”
“Well, I know you’ll get it eventually.” I replied. We shared a hug and then ate the cake and talked. We finished the cake and then went back upstairs. I helped her get ready first. I even french braided her hair. I learned from watching Agnes do it to Astrid’s hair. I made pins from my ice as I braided to keep it in place. When I was done I took out the ice pins and melted them.

I had to make sure that the maid of honor was as beautiful as the bride. I grabbed the dress and looked at it. You could tell it had been my mother’s, but at the same time you couldn’t. It was really only my father who realized that I had used my magic to fix it and who the dress originally belonged to. He loved that I was wearing it. I couldn’t wait for him to walk me down the aisle.  We would have our belongings moved to the palace the next day. I wouldn’t be packing them though, I’d be with Filip instead. I was also having new clothes made because of my new royal status. I couldn’t believe that I was going to be a princess. It’s often what little girls dream about, that wasn’t usually what I dreamt about though. When I was a little girl, I didn’t want to be a princess. I wanted to be a king. Everyone always told me that I couldn’t be a king, but I could be a queen. If there was no king then a queen would do the same job, so I wanted to be a queen. They would never put a woman in charge though. At least that’s what I thought.

Filip and I didn’t want to get married in a church. We wanted to get married in the castle garden but Emil insisted upon the church. We couldn’t shake him so we had a solution. My siblings and I all snuck into the castle garden and Filip and I would have a private ceremony and a public one. We had talked to the minister and he was fine with it. We would get married twice. One ceremony for us and the other one for everyone else. I had a bouquet of the white roses made by Astrid. Lucas walked me down the fake aisle. Filip and I got married in secret and then in public. Both ceremonies were beautiful.

Whenever I tell the story of my marriage, people always tell me that having two weddings on the same day seems excessive. I don’t really care what they think. It was my wedding, it already happened. It was my day with my husband. I loved every minute of it and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
