In the deepest of my desires,
You were there.
You were there in my heart and my mind,
When the sky was dark and the day was bright.
You were there within me,
Every time I smiled and every time I cried.
My day ended with your thoughts and started with yours only.
You were my only thought,
When I spent my days in despair.
And, to be true, you're still my unfulfilled desire.
