Angel

I knew I should have gotten the transmitter on my old car checked out before hitting the road. Now I was stuck in the middle of practically nowhere, terrified and alone. I finally got the job opportunity of a lifetime and my old friend from college happened to be near, so this was going to be the best change from the small tiny town I came from. But this was not a good start.

I hopped out of the car and tried my phone once more, receiving no service. Yikes. This is the type of road people get kidnapped. I sighed and stood against the hood hoping for someone to pass who wasn't a creepy old man who wants to have his way with me. Suddenly, I see headlights coming from the road towards me, and I wave my heads like a wild goose to get them to stop. The car then came to a halt right next to me and the window rolled down to reveal a very gorgeous older woman with an equally handsome man. The car, now being right in front of me, was just as fancy, which made it clear that they were not struggling.

"You look like you're a lost sweetie," the woman said, looking me up and down.

"Ummmmm, not really. My car did break down though and I don't get any service here. Do you guys have a phone with service I could use by chance?" I asked, hoping they had a better service provider than myself.

She shook her head and gave a sympathetic look. "No, dear, we don't. There is no service here, but the house just down the street has a landline. Why don't you hop in and we'll take you down there," she offered kindly, showing off her perfect line of white teeth.

"Trish," the man i'm assuming to be her husband, gritted. "I don't think we can just bring in a stranger. She looks awfully young... and innocent," he spoke, directing his eyes towards me. I can admit the way I looked was not sexy such as these two. I had on a long sleeve white shirt along with a black skirt and flats. My long black hair was up in a ponytail, because it kept sweeping in my eyes while driving.

The wife, Trish, laughed and patted her husband's shoulder. "Oh Honey. Lucas won't mind. She's just using the phone. And besides, her innocence is quite captivating, don't you think," she purred, eying me. Well this was weird. I'm hoping I'm not getting kidnapped, but sitting here on the road won't help.

"I agree. I just hope Lucas won't try anything," he added as I heard the doors unlock. I hopped in the back quickly to escape the cold.

"Oh thank you so much.. And ummm, who is Lucas?" I ask. Now that I was in the car, I could see how fancy they were dressed. They both wore black and red, dinner party attire that made them look exceptional.

"He owns the place. And since it's a Friday, he'll actually be there," Trish answered, adding the last part with a chuckle as her husband nodded.

"What kind of party is it? Is it like a dinner party?" I asked. It had to be something for the rich due to how they are dressed.

They both laughed out loud. "Oh no my sweet girl.. What is your name?" Trish asked.

"Angel."

Her husband let out a sigh. "A name to go with the innocent face. Well, fuck."

Where in the hell are we going? I could see the gate ahead and as we came upon it the man leaned to the speaker and spoke out, "Daniel and Trish Thompson. Roman Lake." The gate suddenly opened after he said those words and he drove in.
