KAVIN POV

I decided to cook something for her. She must be hungry — and after what Thyme told me, she definitely hasn’t been eating well.

I went into the kitchen, grabbed the ingredients, and started cooking pork panang with rice.

Once I finished, I plated the food and walked to Kaning’s door. I knocked gently.

(K) K-Kaning?
(KK) Yes?
(K) I cooked some food. Come eat.
(KK) I’m not hungry, Kavin.
(K) Kaning… I know you haven’t eaten properly the whole month. Please… just eat a little for me.
(KK) …Fine, Kavin.
(K) Good. Come when you’re ready.

I walked back to the kitchen, relieved that she agreed.

KANING POV

How did Kavin find out?
I’m sure Mother only told Thyme… and Thyme must’ve told him.

It’s embarrassing.
What must he think of me now?

Anyway, I should go.

I put on a hoodie and walked out to the kitchen.

(K) Hey, Kaning.
(KK) Hi… where’s Thyme?
(K) He went to see his girlfriend. Come, eat.

I sat down, and Kavin handed me the plate.
It looked like a lot — way too much for me.

(K) Don’t worry, you don’t have to finish it all. But you need to eat enough, okay?
(KK) Okay. Thank you, Kavin.

He smiled softly, and I started eating.
I couldn’t help wondering where he learned to cook — it tasted good.

I managed to eat half. I really tried to finish it, but my stomach just couldn’t handle more.

Then the door opened.

(T) Hey!
(KK & K) Hi!
(T) You finally ate, Kaning!
(KK) Yeah…
(T) Oh — this is from Gorya. She said to call her.
(KK) Okay, Thyme. Thanks.

Thyme handed me a soft toy and some snacks.

(KK) Thank you, Kavin, for the food… but I really couldn’t finish it.
(K) It’s okay. Just eat what you can. And call Gorya. —he cupped my cheeks—
(KK) Ah— yes! —I smiled awkwardly—

I hurried back to my room.
My cheeks were burning. I was definitely blushing when he touched my face.

Right. I needed to call Gorya.

KANING POV — CALL WITH GORYA

(G) Kaning!?
(KK) Yes, Gorya. You wanted me to call?
(G) Yes! How could you not tell me you broke up AND that you moved there?!
(KK) Sorry… everything happened so fast. I didn’t have the energy to tell anyone.
(G) It’s okay. But you better tell me everything when we meet.
(KK) Yeah, I will.
(G) Come to my apartment tomorrow then.
(KK) Alright, I’ll come.
(G) Do you like the soft toy and snacks?
(KK) Of course! They’re so cute.
(G) Did you eat?
(KK) Yes. Kavin cooked for me.
(G) He WHAT?
(KK) He cooked for me.
(G) Since when does he cook for someone?
(KK) Calm down. He noticed I was down… and that I hadn’t eaten.
(G) Okay, but he doesn’t even cook for Thyme or his brother.
(KK) Gorya… what’s your point?
(G) Nothing. Just tell me everything tomorrow.
(KK) I will. Don’t worry.
(G) Okay, go sleep. See you tomorrow. Love you!
(KK) Bye! Love you too.

I hung up and lay down.
Sleep hit me fast — I was exhausted.
