"So, Xiao. What do you think of this new girl?"

"I don't like her." He said, bluntly.

I looked away, smiling to myself.

"Why do you ask?" He said with a puzzle expression.

"Oh nothing, just curious," I replied, grabbing his wrist, and leading him along.

"Let's get home!"

As usual, Xiao and I chatted the whole way back, I felt a sense of pride, and joy walking beside Xiao, knowing that Lumine was off the stage.

"Wanna come over to my house? We can play some genshin if you want?"

I chuckled softly to myself, looking straight into his sharp golden eyes.

"Let's go."

Xiao unlocked the door as I patiently stood behind him, watching him fumble with the lock. As soon as he was done, the door burst open and he rushed upstairs, with me following closely behind.

He flopped down on his bed, snuggling his face against his Zhongli plushie.

"Why do you even main Zhongli? Is he even good?" I asked, teasingly, trying to get a reaction out of him.

Xiao looked offended, gasping as he thought of a reply. And finally in the most dramatic tone he could muster, he offered his response.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? FIRST OF ALL, HE'S HOT. SECOND OF ALL, HE'S LITERALLY THE BEST TANK IN GAME. AND THIRD OF ALL, DO NOT SPEAK TO ME, YOU PATHETIC ZHONGLI-LESS LOSER." And with that, we both burst out laughing. His laugh was so sweet and soft, I couldn't help but start blushing.

"Alright, alright, let's co-op now, hahah," Xiao said, as he booted up his PC. Hours past, and we eventually began to grow tired. Even though I knew that I had school tomorrow, I still wanted to stay at his place, so I pulled out my phone and gave my mom a quick call.

"Hey mom? Can I stay at Xiao's?"

"Come onnn, we literally live next door? What's the difference?"

"Really?"

"Thanks! Love you mom!"

Xiao looked at me expectantly, I pounced on him and gave him a bear hug.

"I'M STAYING OVER!" I yelled, hugging him tighter. He simply laughed, hugging me back.

The rest of the night went by like the rest of our sleepovers, staying up late, grabbing snacks, and eventually passing out together at 3 AM.

The next morning, I awoke to the sound of crashing and banging in the kitchen. I slowly got up to investigate the noise, and I couldn't help but break out into a laughing fit when I saw Xiao standing in the middle of a kitchen, with sugar and almonds spilled everywhere. I snickered, rushing to his side to help him clean up the mess. After that, we made some almond tofu for breakfast, and headed to school together to begin another day.

"Hey Xiao, how are you?" Asked Lumine, standing a couple centimeters away, leaning towards him.

"I'm fine, can you, step away please?" He asked, obviously uncomfortable. I watched, wondering how he didn't already snap at her. The girl backed off, only to return to his side, snatching his hand and pulling him to the gym. Xiao reluctantly went along with her, as I eyed the girl from the storage room.

"Alright class, we're gonna be playing volleyball today, please stay where you are, I'm gonna be making pairs for you guys to practice in."

"Xiao, Y/N, you guys can go practice your serves over by that corner,"

"Lumine, Ganyu, go practice over in the middle,"

"Childe, Kazuha you guys go..."

Xiao and I walked over to our assigned spot. I watched as Xiao put his hair up in a ponytail. He looked so cute, so adorable, perfectly... huggable...

Xiao looked at me, confused, and it was only at this moment that I realized I had been staring at him for way too long. "Y/N, is something wrong?" He asked, as a familiar blush came over my face. I giggled, he was way too angelic for this world. I ruffled his hair, and he let out a tired groan, smacking my hand away.

"Seriously, Y/N, you need to stop treating me like I'm your dog or something..."

"Pssh, it's not my fault your hair is so fluffy... Plus... you're so cute when you have your hair up..." I said, trying to defend myself.

We started laughing, completely forgetting about volleyball and school. In that moment, it was just the two of us, in our little bubble, undisturbed by the world. In this second, I could almost convince myself that nothing between us had changed, and the butterflies that threatened to fly out of my stomach didn't exist.

It was peaceful.
