Chaos erupted in the heart of the Forbidden Forest as Severus Snape, with an unyielding determination, pursued you relentlessly through the labyrinthine wilderness after being ordered by Dumbledore to do so.
Moonlight filtered through the dense canopy, casting an eerie glow that danced on the dark forest floor--the atmosphere thick with tension, every rustle of leaves and distant hoot of owls acting as a haunting reminder of the perilous chase that you had found yourself a part of.
Fear coursed through your veins like wildfire, your heart pounding as though it might burst from your fucking chest. The urgency of the pursuit added to the suffocating weight of the forest, each step forward feeling like an agonizing leap into the unknown.
The undergrowth clawed at your robes, tripping you and slowing the pace of your desperate escape. The ancient trees seemed to lean in, their gnarled branches reaching out like skeletal fingers, as if conspiring with Severus against you. Shadows moved at the corner of your vision, playing tricks on your frayed, exhausted nerves--sweat rolling down your temples, moistening the fabric on your back.
Severus's voice, cold and unwavering, echoed through the twisted corridors of the forest. His aggressive pursuit was relentless, his spells crackling through the air, each one a near miss that left a burning trail in its wake. Every whispered incantation sent chills down your spine, a haunting reminder of the formidable wizard hot on your heels, unwilling to let you get away.
Despite the overwhelming fear, there was also a strange exhilaration in the chase. The rush of adrenaline, the primal instinct to survive, it was a twisted dance between predator and prey in the darkest of settings. And in that heart-pounding moment, as the Forbidden Forest seemed to conspire against you, you knew that the pursuit could only end in one of two ways: capture or escape.
And you also knew that the outcome hung in the balance, a delicate thread connecting the desperate chase to an uncertain fate--you knew Severus wouldn't dare to show you mercy, considering you'd stolen from his classroom, considering you'd taken the supplies you needed with an intent to flee the school and bring yourself to safety. You just wanted to get the hell out of here, with the war quickly approaching, you knew that being a Professor here would only end in disaster.
But your final straw, your real reason you'd decided to leave was because you and Severus had been spending a great deal of time together--he'd been teaching you how to hone in your dark arts defences, wanting to help you protect yourself amid the impending war--but even more than that, the two of you had become close. So close that you had slept together, many times, seemingly always after multiple nights of one too many glasses of wine.
And that would all be fine, if he didn't treat you like a piece of shit afterwards. Treat you as though you were nothing more than a vessel to get his release--kicking you out of his chambers immediately after he'd fucked you, followed by blatantly ignoring you for days until you couldn't take it anymore and decided to make the next move. And just when you'd thought you were getting through to him, the process would repeat. The exact same fucking way every single time.
You knew you had no reason to stay here. Not one. And the fact that he wasn't going to let you make an easy escape was fuelling levels of anger within you that you didn't know possible. Perhaps running from him was a dumb idea, perhaps you needed to face this, face him, head on.
So after you'd put a great deal of distance between your bodies, you slowed, tucking yourself behind a tall tree and silently working to steady your breathing, calming yourself down as you focused on the silence of the night air.
But after a few moments, your solitude was shattered by the distant approach of footsteps, and the echo of whispered incantations--and as you peeked out from behind the tree, you saw him, a tall shadow in the night, his wand raised with a mask of determination on his face, confronting you with the weight of his power. It only took a mere two seconds for him to spot you, and before you could even realize what was happening, spells erupted like lightning bolts, the depths of the forest baring witness to your magical duel, each missed incantation leaving its mark on the innocent ancient trees nearby.
