"Bro please Aubrey, can I go?"
This was the millionth time DaeDae was asking me about this party that was happening tonight.
"Baby just let him go!" Mariah yells from the bathroom.
I just woke up and he came right in here just to ask me about it again. Yesterday he asked me when we picked him up from Trey's house and I immediately responded with a no.
"Right! You should just listen to Mariah!" He had a small ball in his hands throwing it up and catching it.
I rubbed the sleepiness out of my eyes yawning. "Who's party is this?"
"One of my homies, homies parties. They invited me on the first day of school."
"I'll think about it."
He stopped throwing the ball up and looked at me with a blank stare making me laugh.
"Are you for real? The party is tonight."
"Yea, I'll let you know."
I heard him mumble something under his breath before walking out the room closing the door back.
"What is there you have to think about?" Mariah comes out the bathroom with a robe on. "The boy is 15 Aubrey not 12."
I got up from the bed going to my dresser deciding what clothes I'm going to wear today.
"You know how he is,"
"How is he? You know it's kind of funny how you told me to stop treating him like a baby but you're literally the one who does it."
She starts putting coca butter lotion on her body.
"That's false as hell."
Pulling out a white fitted t shit and my new Nocta tech fleece full zip hoodie and joggers set that I had recently just ordered not too long ago.
You know if I got one for myself I had to get one for DaeDae too. He was hyped when I showed him.
"But nah, you trying to ride with me to the store? I have to buy some takeout at Krogers for today."
I walked into the bathroom preparing for my shower.
"Yea sure, I'm happy you're doing this for the kids."
"I'm just trying to give back to the kids, that's all. Why'd you take a shower without me though?"
I peeked around the corner with my head to the side looking at her.
"Because of that reason. He came in here and asked you a question."
"I think you lying but it's cool." I closed the bathroom door turning on the shower waiting for the water to get hot.
