Falling Easily

It was the way she smiled, it was my lure.

It's the softness of his eyes, they let me sleep at night.

The way she walked left me hypnotized.

Then his lips graced mine so gently.

She loved the spring, and many things.

He loved to see me sing, even if I was off key.

I felt safest with my head on her lap.

my drowsiness grew as he ran his finger through my hair.

It was easy, falling for you.

I wish I could exist in this world again.

Back then there was a day, we went down to the river bed.

You sat against the tree gazing at the stream.

Pulling me in wrapping me into your arms.

My head pressed against your chest.

You pointed to the leaves, as they fell into the stream.

But all I could do was admire you.

For all you were, and not what you weren't.

I slipped into the spell.

And my eyes grew tired from the warm sun. You made me safe and so my eyes closed tightly shut.

Late at night, she held me so tight.

Even when I jump out of constant nightmares.

Shooting my body straight up.

She hugged me and said it was alright.

I'd escaped the dark dream, it was all gone and that I could go back to sleep.

Her chest was soft and comforting.

The best part was when she snuggled me back to bed.

I fell for the beat of her heart.

How I fell so easily, for the ones who were kind to me.

I was lost for so long.

But now you're here.

Right beside me.

Morning and night.

The sun and the moon do a silent dance.

Rotating and taking turns.

Giving me time, to grow and rest.

Until I find my way back again.

I'll make it back to the river bed and by night I'll lay with you in bed.

Till time comes to it's ends.
