Princess Yuna, for a royal, was not a very demanding person. She asked San to come on outings with her and for occasional tasks throughout the day, but San often found himself with a lot of free time.
He had a few friends in his home kingdom. None he truly missed, but he did miss having friends. The servants in Aurora's castle were nice enough, but it was difficult being an outsider.
When San woke, the sun was already high in the sky. He was surprised the princess had not yet called for him. The room he was given was cramped--there was barely room for the bed and a tiny dresser, but at least it was his own. Back in Cheshire, the servants' quarters were all shared; each room housed at least twenty people with stacked beds and no room for personal belongings.
The communal washing room was fairly empty; most of the other servants had most likely already started their respective tasks. So, San took his time washing. He explored the castle next and realized that all his washing had been for nothing when he stumbled across the training room.
San enjoyed exercise. He relished in the feeling of exerting his muscles to build even more strength. The training equipment in Aurora looked to be of a higher quality than San's home kingdom, so he couldn't resist trying them out.
He must have spent at least an hour there. He was sweaty and though his muscles were tired, he felt energized. He washed once again, this time more quickly, and a maid was waiting for him outside the washing room when he was done.
"Princess Yuna requests your presence," she told him, cheeks red as her eyes strayed to San's shirt which was not yet fully buttoned.
San dipped his head. "Thank you."
Since he wasn't told exactly where the princess was, San assumed she would be in her bedroom. Sure enough, she was sitting at her vanity when San knocked and entered with permission. "Good afternoon," she said. "I have spent the morning with Prince Jongho and the King and Queen. We have planned an outing for Jongho and me to go into town tomorrow."
"That sounds lovely, Your Highness."
"First, I will ask you to accompany us there. And second, we will be going to the market. I will ask for you to make a list of all that I will need to purchase in order to make my quarters here feel more like those I had at home." For a split second, her eyes saddened. "Though, I suppose this is my home now."
"I would be happy to accompany you, princess. And I shall make the list straight away."
Yuna smiled. "Thank you, San. Having you here makes me miss Cheshire slightly less."
San didn't know what was so great about Cheshire. The kingdom was substantially smaller and poorer than Aurora. Though, he supposed it was more of a home to the princess than it was for himself. "Of course, princess. Is there anything else I can do for you?"
"That will be all. You may take your leave."
San bowed and then left, closing the door behind him. Preparing a shopping list--that would most likely be the extent of his duties for the day.
Before he started, he thought he should eat something. He had already missed breakfast and his muscles would never grow if he didn't eat enough.
San had accompanied the princess on the short tour she was given of the castle, though they were not shown places such as the dining area for castle servants. He interrupted the first servant he came across and asked the location of the kitchens.
"Servants may eat in the dining area just that way," the servant said, pointing in the direction San had already been heading. "Though," he smirked. "Watch out for the prince."
