While San tried to convince Yeosang that he didn't have to marry at all, Wooyoung took a different approach. A more sensible one, in Wooyoung's opinion.

"Many kings do not love their wives," Wooyoung pointed out to Yeosang as the prince dressed for the day. As always, he averted his eyes even though Yeosang didn't seem to care whether he watched.

"I am sure that is true," Yeosang agreed. "Many couples must have married too hastily and become trapped in their marriage. I will not be alone in that."

That wasn't necessarily the point Wooyoung was trying to make. "Many kings also take additional lovers."

Yeosang stopped dressing and turned to face him. Wooyoung turned his eyes to the prince and tried to keep from flushing; Yeosang hadn't yet finished dressing. "What is your point, Wooyoungie?"

"I...um...just because you will be married does not mean that I will stop loving you."

"You wish to be my affair?"

Now, Wooyoung had no control over the heat that rose to his face when he nodded. He wouldn't have used those exact words, but he supposed Yeosang had the right idea.

His only mercy was that Yeosang didn't laugh outright. He seemed to actually be considering the logistics of such a thing. "Getting caught being unfaithful to my wife would not be a great start to my reign," he finally decided.

"Of course, my prince. I was only saying- you do not have to-" he sighed, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. "Never mind."

Yeosang smiled and kissed him once, then went back to finish dressing. "Let us not think about that right now, Wooyoungie. I am not yet married."

San caught wind of what Wooyoung had said, because of course he did. He found Wooyoung the next day after Wooyoung dropped Yeosang off at his lesson.

"That is how you are attempting to rectify the situation?" San asked, looking at Wooyoung incredulously.

"What would you suggest, then?" Wooyoung defended. "There is not much we can do, unless you think we can magically cure the King."

San made to respond but Wooyoung looked around. They were too exposed, speaking in the castle's halls at midday. He grabbed San's forearm--San protested with a small 'hey!' but let himself be dragged to a nearby empty classroom.

San folded his arms. "As I was saying, even if you got what you wanted, even if Yeosang married and allowed one of us to be his...sidepiece, that would still not be enough. He would not be happy."

"What do you know about what would make him happy? I have known him for-"

"Four years," San finished. "Yes, I am aware that you've known him longer. But perhaps I am more observant than you."

Wooyoung ignored the jab. "You cannot ask him to abandon his whole life. He has been working towards this since he was a child, this is all he knows."

"We must agree to disagree, then." God, San could be just as stubborn as the prince. "But in my opinion, you are looking out for his comfort while I am looking out for his happiness."

All this was easy for San to say. He had nothing tying him down in Aurora, no reason for him to want to stay. For Yeosang and even Wooyoung, it would never be that easy. "Be honest. You are also looking out for your own happiness."

At that, San did not reply, and Wooyoung knew that he was right. San simply didn't understand the scope of the situation. Yet, a part of Wooyoung had to commend him for his courage--not everybody would have the nerve to ask a prince to run away with them.
