Over the next week, Yeosang divided his spare time almost equally between Wooyoung and San. Or, he tried to. With Wooyoung being his guard, it was natural that Yeosang saw him a lot more often.

He liked being with each of them for different reasons. With Wooyoung, he felt so warm and fuzzy. It was like the feeling he got when he sat by the fire with his favourite book or soaked up the sun in the garden, but a hundred times better. And with San, everything felt like an adventure. He never knew what was going to happen next and it made him feel nervous, but also excited because he knew no true harm would come to him.

Unfortunately, he was currently with neither of them. Hongjoong rattled off information about a King's duties while Yeosang only half-listened. The tutor had just gotten around to the importance of attending knighting ceremonies when Yeosang perked up. He interrupted Hongjoong midway through his speech. "What are the requirements for becoming a knight?"

"Requirements, Your Highness?"

"Yes. For example, if somebody who was born in a different kingdom wanted to become a knight in Aurora. Would that be possible?"

"Why are you asking such questions, Your Highness?"

Yeosang folded his arms, irritated. "Why are you asking such questions? Answer mine."

Hongjoong looked to be deep in thought for a moment. "Such a thing has not happened in Aurora before, but I cannot recall a law against it. The most important things are skills with a sword and an oath to serve Aurora until one's dying breath."

Yeosang jumped up. "That is all I needed to know. We shall resume the lesson tomorrow."

Hongjoong, brilliant as he was, had the nerve to argue with him. "Your Highness, we have a lot of material to get through."

Yeosang didn't share his concern. "I am not even engaged yet, there is plenty of time," he told him, and left without another word.

Wooyoung was waiting for him outside but Yeosang dismissed him as gently as he could, wanting to speak to San alone. He searched for the servant in the dining hall and then San's bedroom, which Yeosang had finally memorized how to find, but San was in neither of those places. He finally found him in the library.

"Skipping your lesson again, prince?"

Yeosang shrugged. "I attended most of it. I left early because I had the most terrific idea." He sprawled out on the couch next to San, resting his legs on the other's lap as he had begun to do often.

"And what would that be?" San looked down at him with a small smile, putting his book down and giving Yeosang his full attention.

"Were you aware that there is no rule against someone from another kingdom becoming a knight in Aurora?"

"No, I was not, but..." San spoke slowly, carefully. "Prince, I know what you're thinking but your parents know what I have done. They would never allow it."

"They would if I asked them," Yeosang insisted.

"You do not think asking for such a thing would make them suspicious?"

"Of course not. And even Yuna could advocate for you. You should at least think about it."

"I will consider it." San liked the idea, Yeosang could tell. He was just hesitant to get his hopes up. "But later. How can I think about anything else when somebody so beautiful is sitting right in front of me?"

San truly had a gift for saying the cheesiest things while somehow still sounding genuine. It never failed to make Yeosang's heart flutter, which he expected was exactly San's intent.
