Late 2018, Spain
3rd Person POV
Y/n and Gabriel were best friends for several years, y/n had a crush on Gabriel since they met as small children and she stayed that way
Now they were teenagers with a whole friend group that they share, they were at a friends house
Gabriel was on one side of the couch while y/n was on the other side
"Why are the love birds on opposite ends of the couch?" One of the boys said, Gabriel looked at or next to y/n and she smiled so did he "oh right come here Nicole" Gabriel said holding his arms out for Nicole
"Ok" Nicole said smiling and going over to him and laying on his chest
Y/n looked down but didn't say anything, everyone continued watching the movie they were watching
Gabriel was happy with Nicole laying on him, y/n was well heartbroken and was screaming internally but just texted her older brother (born in 2000) to come and get her because she just couldn't handle being there watching them be together
Y/n carefully picked up her stuff (she had a bag because the original plan was everyone was going to come over watch a movie and stay the night), Nicole noticed
"Where are you going y/n?" Nicole asked worried about her best friend
"Yeah I just realized my family is at home and it's an emergency so I'm going to have to bounce" y/n said lying right through her teeth
"Oh come on" the rest of the group said, y/n's phone dinged and it was her brother letting her know he was there to get her
"Sorry guys, I'll see you soon bye" y/n said walking out everyone said bye but Nicole knew something was wrong
Y/n left and got into her brothers car, and looked like she wanted to start balling her eyes out
"What happened?" Y/b/n said "got my feelings hurt and now I'm being a baby" y/n said honestly
"Your not being a baby for being human y/n, let me take a wild guess it's about Gabriel" he said and y/n nodded
"Teenage boys suck" He said making sure her bags were secure "you are one" y/n laughed at him "yeah but mom and dad raised me to have morals and reason plus our 3 older sisters made sure of that" y/b/n said
"So did our 3 older brothers" y/n said fixing herself "them too, but seriously y/n I hate to be that person but stop crushing on a person who had you hysterically crying on the floor at 4 am" he said calling her out on the behavior
Y/n sighed and said "I know but my heart is heavy I've loved him since the day I met him 12 years ago" she said remembering the day they met
"But this is harming your mental emotional and physical health, seriously no boy is worth this bs" he said telling me the truth
I knew so I nodded which meant stopping telling me before I explode
"You wanna go get some food?" Her brother said turning on the car "yeah why not" y/n said
So that's what they did, they got out of the car and went inside, they got their food and goofed around for a little
Then went home and y/n went to sleep because she was tired
"What happened" their oldest sister said as y/b/n walked in to the kitchen where all the other 6 kids and their partners were
"Teenage boy" y/b/n said, "I say we kill him" their oldest brother said "no" all of them said and he pouted
"Is she ok?" Their sister that they are closest in age to said "she'll be ok but it's going to take some time, she's young and naive she wants something that's hurting her and won't be worth it in the long run" y/b/n said
"Been there done that" the girls said
Over the next few months y/n gained her self esteem and confidence back, she was going on dates and having a good time
She was still hanging out with Gabriel and Nicole and their friend group
Fast forward to 2020
The group were all hanging out at a friends house again but this time y/n was on her phone texting someone
Nicole was sitting with her boyfriend and Gabriel was alone
"What are the love birds doing on opposite ends of the couch?" The same boy said
Nicole ignored him because she knew it wasn't her Gabriel looked confused and y/n wasn't paying attention
"Gabriel Y/n" the boy said, Gabriel looked stunned and y/n laughed and said "yeah no"
Gabriel looked at her "really y/n?" He said kinda hurt "Gabriel don't get butt hurt" y/n said watching the movie
Gabriel felt his heart drop but turned his head back around
Later On
It was just Gabriel and Nicole, she noticed something was wrong "you ok?" She asked getting a water bottle
"I guess y/n's rejection got me" Gabriel said sighing "well given what you did to her you know" Nicole said "what do you mean?" Gabriel said confused
"Well that night 2 years ago when she left the reason was because you decided to say me and not her" Nicole said putting her phone down
Gabriel remembered her reaction that day and slapped himself on his forehead
"Grovel because otherwise that relationship or friendship is over" Nicole said laughing
Gabriel nodded and thought how about to grovel
Later on that night everyone was getting ready to go to bed, all in seperate rooms with exception to couples
Y/n was putting on her shirt, Gabriel waited outside the door before knocking on her door
Y/n opened it and saw him "what's up?" She asked "can we talk?" Gabriel said and Y/n nodded letting him into her room
She closed the door and Gabriel sat on the bed, y/n sat down next to him
"I am sorry and I want to grovel about what happened" Gabriel said, y/n knew what he was talking about and nodded
"Just so your aware I will torture you" y/n said honestly
"Ready for a challenge" Gabriel said
"good" y/n said crawling into her bed and Gabriel went with her "go away" "ok"
And for the next 4 months she made him grovel...hard
One day when they were at her house laying on the couch watching YouTube
She kissed him he kissed her back then pulled away "so we're a thing now?" He said y/n nodded
"It should have you from the beginning" "your fault"
