Maddy's POV
After giving Bada a kiss, I entered my car and waved goodbye to her, I checked the time one last time and it was only 6:30, a notification from Mom showed and I opened it right away.
Mom: Hey babe, before you come home can you get milk, eggs, and some linguine from the store?? thank you love.
Me: sure mom, see u <3
I locked my phone and went straight to a grocery store to grab what Mom asked of me. I saw a new coffee shop in front of the grocery store so I walked in and grabbed a drink and some pastries.
"Maddy right?" I turned my head and saw Lin
"Bada's not with me" I answered right away stating that I didn't want any conversation with her.
"Hold on a second, I think we got on the wrong foot" She said grabbing my arm, I rolled my eyes and faced her
"I don't think we got on the wrong foot, I just plainly don't like you, there's really no other explanation needed for that" I said without hesitating with a serious face on
"I see why Sea likes you" She said smiling, she removed her sunglasses
"You mind if I sit here?" She asked sitting down on the single couch in front of me
"Would it matter if I said no? You're already sitting" I said with my voice covered in annoyance
She smiled
"What do you want Lin, if you wanna be best friends sorry I can't give that to you I already have a best friend" I said taking a sip of my coffee
"I just wanted to ask if you're Bada's new girlfriend?" She asked and I put down my mug on the table and sucked my teeth
"What is it with you if I am or not?" I asked her
"I just want you to know what you're getting yourself into before you jump into any relationship with her" She answered me and I let out a sarcastic laugh
"Why don't you be frank with me Lin, what do you really need with me or with Bada, because as long as I'm concerned you're an ex... No scratch that, you're not even an ex, you're a booty call if I'm not mistaken" I said clearly losing my patience
"I don't want you to be mad at me, I've known Sea since preschool, you've known her for what a few months? I don't take you for a stupid person, because if you're, Sea wouldn't take interest in you" She finished standing up
"Whatever is happening between me and Bada is between us, you have no say in it, and whatever past she has I will accept it so you can keep your fake concern to yourself" I said standing my ground
"Yeah I hope so" She said before walking away from me
What the hell is her problem? Is she really trying her best to make me hate her even more?
I picked up the pastries I bought and my coffee along with my groceries and drove home
"Mom! I'm home!" I shouted and Dylan and Abi ran out to hug me
"Where's Mom?" I asked
"At the kitchen cooking as always" Dylan replied I kissed him on the forehead and handed them the pastries I had taken home
"Mom... I got what you asked earlier" I said putting down the groceries on the counter
"Thank you sweetheart... By the way... Cate called earlier" I shot up my head as my heart pounded at what Cate might've said to Mom
"Really? What did she say?" I asked her hopping on the counter
"She asked if you're home" Seriously? That's all?
